I read today that to fully harge an ev at home at the present rate would cost £13. FFS 13 quid for a ride of 300 miles if you go in the dark and freeze your bollocks off. Cost of Charging an Electric Car Pod Point pod-point.com › Content Hub Overview 16 Oct 2024 — Charging an electric car at home costs about £13 for a full charge and is the most convenient and cost-effective way to keep your car fully charged. There's another problem. If everyone suddenly bought an electric car the lights would go out because we don't have the capacity. And that's when the sun shines, wait until winter when there's no sun and EV battery performance is reduced because they need a minimum temp of 20c, below that efficiency and range drops rapidly, and lets not forget, the UK is a tiny rock in the north east Atlantic. It's ironic really, electric vehicles need global warming. They just don't operate well in cold weather. You only have to turn the wipers on and it reduces the range. Just Imagine in the winter when you need lights, heater and heated rear screen turned on...

This is why the government (The Inner party) who insist the proles must buy electric cars, have chauffeur driven diesel V8's, they're reliable regardless of the weather.

Next week the temperatures are going to plummet as a depression over Scandinavia brings Polar air down from the North. Fortunately for Miliband the cold winds will turn the wind turbines and there should be a glut of electricity. However, it won't last. The cold air may stay and the winds die down. Power supplies this winter really are on a knife edge. We now have have a portable gas heater in case of power cuts. We shouldn't need to be doing that.

Any price is worth paying for the net zero nuts . Especially when it’s not them paying it. isnt that the truth. We see it daily , for example , Scottish politicians at Holyrood charging their EVs at parliament off taxpayers money , or mps at westmsinter who virtue signal about net zero claiming heating expenses off taxpayers money. In a nutshell. They want net zero. We are to pay for it.

The UK's fundamental problem isn't net zero, it's too many people too few MW.
