As far as the EU is concerned 'passport control' is something of an oxymoron. Just throw your passport away and claim to be a gay refugee... Not sure that helps me if I'm going on holiday. Bigger fool you then to go to any EUSSR state for holiday. Plus you will have to caugh up for labours APD. Still you get what you voted for so why are you bitching?

I’ve been stuck in long queues and encountered stroppy blokes in kiosks trying to get into the US. I’m going to Italy next year. I’m not bothered about it .

Anyone travelling to an EU country after 10th Nov will need to have fingerprints taken and/or their photo taken. This is likely to mean longer queues in passport control. Then in 2025 further requirements (ETIAS) will come into force, where you will need to fill in forms, gain prior authorisation to enter and pay a fee. One more Brexit bonus, along with losing our right to live and work ine EU and the £60bn+ economic hit. That will hurt tourism to the EU. There is a way of copying fingerprints they are no longer foolproof, tech has come too far.

My horizons are broader than an insular Europe. Gladly, I'll never experience the joys of being a British expat living on the continent post-Brexit. Smart move, that way you'll be able to avoid the 50% increase in entrance fees for many popular tourist attractions coming into force in 2025 for non-EU residents.
And yes, I'm afraid that Brexit has kyboshed any hopes you might have had of finding an affordable bolt-hole on the continent when the balloon goes up. Never mind eh.
They'll be lucky to get away with that. It's indirect discrimination.

They already do. Been to the Colosseum lately? If you don't have an EU ID you'll pay double to go in. The Louvre, Eiffel Tower, etc will be following suit next year. Even Notre Dame will be charging for entry when it reopens.
I've no idea why the UK allows foreigners in for nothing. The last time I was in the British Museum you could hardly move for Chinese. Madness.

What you mean the EU brought in all those Chinese I saw in the British Museum? So many I couldn't get near the Sutton Hoo helmet for the blighters taking selfies in front of it?!? The Viking pattern-welded sword too!
If I'd known that at the time I'd have voted Leave instead.

As I understand it you might be a bit delayed this year then need to fill in a form and pay 7 euros next year . If that’s enough to make the ex remainers cry then I am not a bit surprised.

I have to say that if I decided to go and live overseas again it certainly would not be anywhere in the EU - they have all the same problems as we do so it wouldn't be worthwhile.

Playing 'Where's the best place to live' is always an entertaining pastime, however I believe it's the case that all liberal democracies, including those outside the EU, share a similar set of problems although some are worse afflicted than others.
Considering likely and appealing destinations outside the EU for would-be UK escapees we're really confined to North America and Australasia. The problem there for Brits is that these days they are as difficult to relocate to as the EU now is.
The UK's own distinctive problem includes of course its chronic over-population which brings with it all sorts of other problems, including an ability to feed its population from its own agricultural production. A problem that government policy exacerbates year-on-year.

Look on the bright side. You'll be able to use those extra hours in the lines at passport control making friends with other non-Europeans from Nigeria, Pakistan, Mongolia, Moldova and all sorts of other interesting places. Perhaps even striking up long-lasting holiday liaisons or romances. They only do it first time you visit.
