Given the trend to do things the right way in the democratic West has led to many requirements that are beginning to be recognized, under the present world situation, as a hinderance to growth. This will require a change of direction in the future. A harder approach will no doubt be required in order for countries to grow and to become economically stronger. (a fairer distribution of wealth might also help growth). Starmer seems intent on leading the way by cleaning up the UK economy, will Europe follow suit?
Artificial Intelligence will almost certainly make a difference to the future. Perhaps the very (oil) rich countries that are overflowing with wealth will be able to buy the lead in AI. This is another reason why it is so important to get the UK economy running well.

It will be hard to get the UK economy 'running well' when it is structurally so imbalanced compared to other major European economies.

Europe will not follow as it is inherently wedded to excess regulation that stifles innovation - which explains why its growth rate is so bad.

Europe will not follow as it is inherently wedded to excess regulation that stifles innovation - which explains why its growth rate is so bad. Europe is already concerned about a possible recession, and are to some extent talking the same language as Starmer, the question is, will they be about to sort their own economies out, which may require dropping the old approach of doing everything -- the right, proper and fair way --. Will we see a change in some of the Rules and Regulations that are at present in use? Only time will tell.

I don't recognise the world you are living in The UK has enjoyed stifling regulation, laws and paperwork burgeoning under both Labour and Tory for my whole life. The European nation states more so This is not going to change under a labour government The Europeans still enjoy the bullshitery and waste of relocating their entire cir us between Brussels and Strasbourg twice yearly in order to placate the people who can't make their minds up where they want the bullshitting to be done.

It's been accepted (in See2's head).
If you weren't Rightist/Far Right/Stupid/Lying/Immature (delete as applicable) you'd know that.
(Expect a reply along those lines imminently).

That is the nub of which, because of the changing world we now live in, is what now has to be addressed. 4. I suspect world trading conditions will dictate the changes. 5. ------------------

I have already made the points his intentions to put the economy on an even keel, and that he is talking about encouraging new start up companies creating more jobs. The EU are now talking about a need to avoid a "looming recession" stating that increasing small businesses will play a big part.

He's leading the way to economic disaster, no point asking see2 because he's as vacant as Starmer.

Sounds all very vague and wishy washy. How's he going to do that? What, just by encouraging a few new start up companies?

The UK’s Alternative Investment Market (Aim) has shrunk to its smallest size in 23 years as business owners and investors anticipate an abolition of inheritance tax relief in the budget this week.

That's why I'm struggling to see what Labour & Starmer in particular are supposedly leading the way in? As usual, there isn't much substance to the claim asking whether Europe will follow (follow what?), it's just vagueness and wishy washy statements.
