Currently wind providing 3.8% of our energy needs. No one is planning on cutting the gas pipes and sealing the ends. But over the last 12 months is a more realistic measure, which is why you're reduced to this garbage,

I don't need to pick my days, in the last year. Coal 0.9% Gas 26.9% Solar 5.1% Wind 31.6%Hydroelectric 1.4% Nuclear 14.7 % Biomass 7.2% ..and again, you are totally missing the point. Then make it clearer

Do you understand that the wind almost never stops blowing in the North sea You need to look back in the conversation to see how consequentially irrelevant this observation is If it is still for a day we would still (pardon the pun) have a problem Only if you assume stupid things.

Here is one way to get free energy. Bidirectional charging, as it is now called. I suggested this on this very forum a while back. It's good to see society catching up with my brain!
A new report out has crunched some numbers on how many billions are saved by a small mod on the chargers.
By the way, this is a good channel and is usually quite intelligent and level-headed. From down under.

why? surely a link to what you post would far more accurately represent your claim. Why? surely you remember you told me my links were from sources you didn’t approve of and you thought it best you ignore me so do it what do you expect?

Offshore wind farms blocked over national security fears...... Sweden has blocked more than a dozen offshore wind farms in the Baltic Sea over fears they could make the country more vulnerable to attacks from Russia. Defence minister Pål Jonson said 13 applications had been rejected over concerns they would have “unacceptable consequences” for national security.

But over the last 12 months is a more realistic measure, which is why you're reduced to this garbage, So the policy is to keep gas power stations for when the wind does not blow - hence prices for the consumer will rise as you are building parallel generation systems. And to think somebody claimed renewables were cheaper..

Currently wind producing 10% of our energy - Gas producing 70%, and we are even sending some of that to Europe to help them out.

FFS Baron there isn't a week that goes bye whithout some bullshit over miracle batteries... You have not got a clue what it is about. It's not bullshit either. I've been looking at this myself. I like the idea that you arrive home plug your car in and from 8pm (When you've had a beer, so wont be using the car) the remaing power in the battery is used to power your home, then at 3am it switches and re-charges your battery at the very cheap night rate. One question is how much these extra cycles shorten the battery life. In the future I think many homes will have a battery of their own (possibly ones deemed no longer viable for the vehicle they came from, but perfectly ok for home use.)
