The range exaggeration from what ive heard is a serious issue. Technically the manufacturers are correct in the estimated range of these vehicles , but im told this is without passengers and luggage . Add these in , and the range drops like a diesel towing a caravan. Turning your heater on along with wipers and headlamps reduces the range of EV's... Indeed. EVs are expensive town cars ..and the irony is that ,as yet, it would be very difficult to recharge in large towns if there were a significant amount of them on the road

I see, so you want complete proof of everything said or else you will scream liar. One rule for you and another for me eh? Nope. I just want you to support a specific claim by some measure that can be checked ie a make and model . Instead I get a dodgy video from a bloke who makes a claim that cant be corroborated and wouldn’t be relevant if it could. Maybe I can convince you that the Earth is flat by posting a video with a bloke claiming the Earth is flat. Anyway, now we have established that there are no available EVs that have batteries that will last longer than the car,we can keep that false claim in the bullshit bin and move on . fuck sake. , this thread was supposed to be about Spanish scientists developing efficient solar panels , and with barons third post already it had reverted to cock sucking china. I suspect and hope trump being elected , along with the consumer saying fuck off to EVs , could put a big sock right in net zero. We shall see though. I see auntie is doing her bit for the green cult by announcing that 2024 is going to be the warmest year on history , ever in the billions of years on the planet , getting all geared up for the cop 29 climate farce. until next year. And the year after.

Turning your heater on along with wipers and headlamps reduces the range of EV's... I can imagine. im sure we have all come across people we know who have these cars , and in my experience , everyone I have talked to is unimpressed. Anecdotal evidence seems to be walking hand in hand with what we are reading both uk wide , European wide , and across the western world with the slow take up of these cars , essentially a niche market for the select few. Genuinely interested in new technology , wether its for transport or whatever , but these evs as thing stand are a complete no no. Well eve heard some pretty convincing counter arguments from the EV Einsteins ..” buy a £110k car, move to another house , get a computer cos I didit.

Well with 35 million passenger cars and five million other vehicles on the road something needs to be done to cull their numbers, which would have the great additional benefit of both weaning Britons off their addiction to imported petroleum and the need to suck up to dodgy foreign despots.
Mandating the replacement of ICE vehicles, especially private cars, by EVs would certainly have the desired effect. The government needs to hold its nerve on this, it's for the good of everyone.

And the year after. I dunno. I reckon millipede is going to go full bacon sandwich on net zero from now on,Reeves is going to find new ways to tax drivers of ICE cars off the road and the usual suspects will be claiming that only far right racists drive ‘ fossil fuel’ cars .

You are incapable of trusting anyone. You border on the paranoid. The thing is having listened to many videos this chap puts out, I can be confident he is honest. You see Youtube videos are peer reviewed, and I have read the peer reviews as well. I gave you the source of the claim I made. I see no reason to disbelieve it. The Electric Viking is an expert in renewable technology. He knows far more than I do and that is why I listen to him. You won't listen to anyone and so this is why you have so little understanding of the subject. You might think you are smart, but you come no where near the knowledge of the reference I gave you. I mean have your little tantrums if you like and tell me I'm full of bullshit. Others can make their own mind up.

We have no obligation to buy into your fantasies When an EV with batteries that will outlast the car..lets say 100000 miles ..is on the market ,let me know . Ill refile your claim .

Wasn't that chap who got topped by the police while piloting an Audi Q8 'on business' Congolese or some-such?

BTW I meant to note that Tesla guarantees its batteries (and motors) for 100,000 or 150,000 miles, depending on model.

That’s only because shit boxes are cheaper than EVs . I had this conversation with an English boy racer a few years ago . There they were racing up and down a back road with their souped up shit boxes and I happened to mention that some Tesla models would piss over all of them. That goes for just about everyone, everywhere .

A Q8 is hardly a 'shit box'. Neither are the expensive top-of-the-range Audis, BMWs and Mercedes that ethnic 'businessmen' tend to favour.
