No that's why we made brakes to sort it out. And keys to stop cars getting stolen. Do you think it’s beyond man to make a boom that is vandal proof. So cars aren’t stolen any more zany ? 🤪 When problems arise zany turns into Pollyanna and blithely moves on. Yes they are and they are also still sold, owned and parked in streets. Many things that are bought get stolen or vandalised, that's not considered a reason not to own them. Indeed its the pathetic nature of the argument that we can't have boom chargers because they might get stolen that is laughable. And the idea that a thief would go to the trouble of climbing 10 feet up the front wall of a house to steal a metal bracket and a piece of wire is also laughable. Something that is so hard to steal but has little re-sale value.

Parking bays, not roads. As I say, they are already resident only, how do you think they know which cars belong to residents? Yes that's right you buy a permit from the council. And they sell far more permits than they have spaces - allocating sections of a public road to private individuals is a very inefficient way of using roadspace that is in very short supply. I simply do not see how this proposal could be made to work. Do they, I didn't know that. They could make it that you get a permanent space outside your home at night if you have an EV car and charger. That might be a good compromise. Assuming we are looking for solutions rather than excuses.

Not feasible you are assuming every house in the street only has one vehicle what about a house whose family members also have vehicles ? where do they park ? even now people who live in terraced streets struggle to park in their own street, they park in neighbouring streets, if their cars are electric how do they charge their vehicle ? Electric Car owners who have their own drive and charging station have had their cables and charging station stolen, cable hanging from a pole in terraced streets would be even easier to steal

Nope it’s a pathetic nature of your argument to dismiss a real problem ( ie vandalism) by simply saying that someone will come up with a vandal proof product. That sums up your arguments.” Someone will sort it out” or a strawman. Your Pollyanna approach is laughable and a little pathetic.

Even the cabinet are split over inheritance tax...Inheritance tax on farmers should only come into effect if the Family sell the farm after the death of the farmer. Most farms are handed down to family members who continue to run the farm. So to tax these families is like robbery and in the end the farm will be sold or closed down after paying the tax as it would be hard to continue working it. Cabinet split on 'disastrous' inheritance tax raid on farms as Rachel Reeves slaps down calls for rethink.... www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14081501/Cabinet-inheritance-tax-raid-farms-Rachel-Reeves-Labour.html

I think the inheritance tax is a bit of daft idea anyway. When people hand their wealth to each other, nothing that needs to be addressed by the government, has changed.
It certainly should not be set at a level that affects working people

It certainly should not be set at a level that affects working people Labour run to true to form, they have absolutely no idea whatsoever how economics works, they turn honest people dishonest, so those who would willing hand over inheritance taxes, capital gains taxes and so on, have now turned law abiding people into tax dodging loophole tax evaders, and I don't blame them one bit.
People will now be using every trick in the book, and every loophole to legally avoid these taxes, hence meaning there will be less and less going into the treasury, it will become clear during the next fives years why Labour were out of power for 13 years, then after the next GE will see Labour out of power for decades, possible 20 years beyond, because people wont forgive them, the farmers, the pensioners and their families.

Is this going to be another winter of discontent?
Farmers to hold ‘national strike’ against inheritance tax changes, disrupting supermarket meat and crop supplies....
British farmers will stage a “national strike” next week, withholding meat and crops from supermarkets to protest Labour’s new inheritance tax policies.
Beginning Sunday, thousands of farmers plan to participate in the week-long strike, which includes a march in London on November 19, where over 10,000 farmers are expected to rally against the tax changes introduced by Chancellor Rachel Reeves.
The policy imposes a 20% inheritance tax on previously exempt farms valued at over £1 million, sparking concerns that it will force many farmers to sell parts of their operations, risking traditional family farm continuity. The Enough Is Enough protest group, representing striking farmers, warned of severe impacts on the industry, stating, “British farmers have simply had enough. We cannot afford to provide food to the public under these conditions.”
The strike will withhold non-perishable items, such as meat and certain crops, from supermarkets, potentially impacting food supplies. UK farms supply approximately 80% of the nation’s beef, 90% of fresh poultry, and large portions of lamb, pork, and wheat. Dairy farmers, however, are exempt from the strike due to the perishability of milk and eggs.
Tim Taylor, a strike organiser and animal feed business owner, noted the strike’s goal is to “disrupt but not decimate supermarket shelves,” aiming for public support.

Labour will learn the hard way, they've broken two Golden Rules, NEVER ruffle the feathers of pensioners and farmers, so what do Labour do? They ruffle the feathers of pensioners and farmers.
LOL.... on their own heads be it, just wait and see what happens when you do ruffle their feathers .......... all I can say is ...... BYE BYE LABOUR ...

There is no solution that is perfect, what do they do now? They would have at least one guaranteed space at night, that seems better than what you say they have now which is a bun fight. People have had their lawnmowers stolen, should we stop owning them? And besides the arm is just an arm and a cable, the charger unit is in the house.

They would have at least one guaranteed space at night, that seems better than what you say they have now which is a bun fight. nearly 60 % of councils that have been surveyed havent even got plans in place never mind began any work to install the infrastructure needed for street charging in residential areas of towns and cities. Time is running out , very few plans are in place . On top of that , those that are forced to charge away from home , will pay a far higher premium , making EV even more costly to buy and run.

It's why so many of them are boycotting free-speech in favour of those headbanging echo-chambers.
