The Government is working with Germany to see how Britain “can move closer to the EU”, Berlin’s foreign ministry said. In remarks made as David Lammy headed for his first overseas visit as Foreign Secretary, the official Twitter account for Germany’s foreign office said: “The United Kingdom is our close friend and partner. Together we stand up for democracy and freedom in the world.” It added: “The United Kingdom is an indispensable part of Europe. Whether in science, culture or security – (Germany) and (Britain) work closely together: We are working with the new UK Government to see how the UK can move closer to the EU.” Mr Lammy, who voted Remain and advocated for a second Brexit referendum, said ahead of his trip that it was time to “put Brexit behind us”. He added: “I want to be absolutely clear, European nations are our friends.” www.telegraph.co.uk/politics/2024/07/06/government-working-with-germany-moving-closer-eu/Alarm bells are ringing, if they're not they bloody well should be. Two things scream out from this article; 1. Continued mass immigration from the EU. 2. The UK will be a part of an EU army. This massively pro EU government will deny both, but watch this space...

It didn't just advocate a second referendum, it demanded Parliament ignore the result of the referendum and keep us in the EU. It's just a rabid black-power racist which Marxists support.

EUSSR demands UK troops join peacekeeping missions under Brexit 'reset'..... The EUSSR are demanding that Britain commit troops to its peacekeeping operations as a price of a closer post-Brexit relationship under Labour. Foreign ministers used the presence of David Lammy at a meeting in Luxembourg to push for the Uk to get involved in its Common Security and Defence Policy missions......
The bloc currently has 3,500 troops and 1,3000 civilians involved in 24 missions around the world, including from Norway, which is not an EU member state.
A source at the meeting yesterday said the UK was not expected to get involved immediately 'but they will do', the Financial Times reported.
However, such a move would be highly controversial. Brexiteer hardliners used fears that the EU was creating its own army, which could see British troops under continental control, as one of its arguments for leaving. .....

Thankfully, one of the few things Boris did do correctly during Brexit negotiations was leave the UK's defense force well and truly out of negotiations. The EU and France (Macron) were hoping to take partial control of the UK's
defense force bound by treaty. France knows the only other nuclear power with the know how and gear would complement France to make Europe more formidable. Sorry, but many patriotic Brits don't want to see a French or Italian
general along with a some gimp in a suit from Brussels commanding the British army. If the UK surrendered its sovereignty of defending its own interests to the EU the ramifications in joining one of its notorious structures
and or frameworks would bind defence industries to EU rules and policies for defence. Of course, it would also mean the EU takes control of UK foreign policy where defense is concerned and will try and legally bind the UK up
in a bureaucratic treaty laden with traps and proposals that only serve the EU's interests. It would have enjoyed subordinating the UK again under EU law, and having the UK's defense at its beck and call.
And now we have an incompetent Labour government sitting, who look quite eager to drop their knickers and become a poodle of such to the EU. In saying that, I think neo-remainers like Sadiq Khan who dream of happily serving the UK up on a
plate to the EU won't see their dreams come to fruition anytime soon. Labour have got enough to worry about before pissing the electorate off by getting bum raped from Brussels.

"Continued mass immigration from the EU"
For something to be continuing doesn't it have to be in progress already?
"In the year to June 2023, 968,000 people from non-EU countries migrated to the UK, compared with 129,000 from EU member states."
Alarm bells should already be deafening.

"EUSSR" eh.
If we're going to be silly, from now on I'm going to be referring to the United Kingdom as the Unincorporated Overseas Territory of the United Kingdom (UOTUK) in recognition of its close resemblance to, and intimate connection with the United States.
How does that sound?

More likely a Puerto Rico-style setup as at present. All the trappings of independence but with Uncle Sam in the background making sure there's no straying off the reservation.

I have every confidence this poxy government will sign British troops up to the 'EU Battlegroup', note - the EU do not call this formation an army, they call it the 'EU Battlegroup', but is effectively an EU army. Precisely what the EU said they had no interest in forming.

There's no need for the EU to have a military staff, EU Battlegroups or any military of its own. NATO exists for a reason. NATO has kept peace since 1949. And in all that time, not so many as one member of NATO has been militarily invaded.
