Robert Jenrick vows to 'kick 1m illegal migrants out' - in hardline Tory leadership pledgeSeen as now being on the right of the party, he has also pledged to bring back the ill-fated Rwanda scheme. to process asylum seekers in the African country, which was intermediately scrapped by Labour once it got into power in July. Mr Jenrick has revealed a hard-line stance on immigration and human rights laws that has seen him more aligned with Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, and more than fellow centrist Tories. www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1960902/robert-jenrick-deport-migrants-tory-leadership-pledgeI absolutely agree with Jenrick, we should deport more than a million illegals. But it's not going to happen, this is Jenrick trying to out Farage, Farage. We heard the same from Cameron, May, Johnson and Sunak and tbh it's past boring, it smacks of desperation.

This is progress mate. Notice the goalposts have shifted. Before it was that net migration thing. Mass deportations need to become popular discourse. Cameron and May were wimps. Sunak was never going to do it.

Sunak was never going to do it. But it's not progress, it's more of the same. We've heard it all before and this is what makes it so infuriating. The entire political establishment know damned well that immigration is a massive issue, but the only time they're ever willing to talk about it is just before an election. As soon as the election is over, it's business as usual which means anyone who criticizes immigration is a racist. I've had enough of being lied to. Vote Reform UK.

Yes I agree with all of that, but just the mere fact mass deportation is coming into the talking circles of the government media shows things have moved on, and the public are ready for it. It puts a lot of pressure on Starmer and his army of wokers.

Great stuff from Jenrick, but can we believe it?, this from a man who seems has moved to this position seemingly as a career move. Farage has said that Badenoch says one thing and does another, when she is confronted she backs down.
The conservatives will surely die completely if they say one thing like Jenrick, then do another, it cant happen.
If both parties lie uncontrollably, for your vote, where does that leave the electorate, ill tell you, in chaos. Can Reform carry out what they say. Not lie? I hope so. If lying carries on, then i will be first to torch Westminister.
Lying will end democracy, whats left of it.

It sounds like he has had a good think about how to fix this country and most of it seems on the right track to me. He comes across as centre Conservative. Lets say he picks up all the natural Conservative voters and gets the blue areas blue again, and then Reform turn the working class areas up north and in large cities to Reform. It could squeeze the Labour vote and then they will both have MPs who will vote in unison on much policy.Reform can not win a majority agaisnt Jenrick. They did well agaisnt Sunak because he did lie. If Badenough wins though she will finish the party off. I don't think she is mentally stable enough to handle it. People will not swallow another ethnic running the country.

Jenrick changes his policy stances more times than Starmer - only a fool would believe him this time. All the time the Tories keep trying to be this 'big tent' they will say one thing and do another - it's inevitable.

Cheap(er) labour is a fact of life ,capitalism works and it works for workers . The problems arise for the low paid when that low pay is kept artificially low by migration from poorer countries where wage expectancy is less . The link between economic growth and income is then broken and you end up with very rich bosses and very poor low paid . Its why big business promote freedom of movement and mass immigration of cheap labour as it keeps them a bigger slice of the cake . And why socially responsible Nationalist capitalists like Farage don't .
