The grapevine tells me constituent's letters go unanswered, he is impossible to contact, much like the trend these days in British democracy.
If this be true then it goes to show the man is an utter sham. He has built a career on the idea of bringing political decisions back from Brussels and in the hands of the British people. In reality it means a standard letter in return that just advertises the party and tells you all your MP is doing for you rather than to address the points you raised in your letter.

'How life has been transformed in the UK post Starmer win'
The grapevine tells me Starmer is completely ignoring requests from the vast majority of UK people, charities, and his own back banchers regarding cutting the winter fuel payments for pensioners, among other things, he is impossible to contact, his arrogance since he became Prime Minister knows no bounds, his lack of empathy and compassion for pensioners who are going to die this winter due to the winter fuel cuts is staggeringly callous, uncaring, and cruel.

You need a new grapevine . I admit the one this was sourced from one that often holds socialist liberal immigration policies, hence the quote. Perhaps though if you were blonde and about 20 years old and wrote something like 'Dear Darling Farage, I soooo much love your act, you make me feel all weak at the knees as you strut on that grand stage' then you might get a reply. Besides it reminds me of a letter I sent to Tessa Munt asking why she had voted for 'gay marriage'. She did not send one back either. A real man though can stand up to his critics. Being an MP means you have to serve everyone.

The grapevine tells me that after just two months in office Starmer is our most unpopular post war prime minister, and we havent had the budget yet.

How has life been transformed in any constituency since the election?. It certainly has not been in mine. Dying to know Baron.. Farage has got five years to turn Clacton around. Even before Farage decided to stand there, I did a little research and came across a YT video of a barber's shop. It went on for over half an hour of locals coming in and getting their hair cut and reporting what life was like. It made depressing viewing. The one that really stuck in my mind was someone who was seriously disabled, and he had nothing but a TV in a room to keep him company, and he comes in and says even that has been stolen now. The pure evil of someone to take away from someone like that is vile and falls well short of British values. You see Clacton has seen a lot of unwanted new arrivals. It's desperately poor and the Brits trying to survive there are at their wits end. You can understand why they voted Reform. The previous Tory in Clacton had clearly done FA to improve things.
Now Reform as a party is well funded and has the resources to figure out what to do. The first thing is to listen to your constituents. Get really close to them and find out the truth about the area. Then Reform need to work with the local council to hatch a plan to fix all of these problems. If they can do that then people will see the difference and then everyone will want a Reform MP. You get the idea. That's the intelligent thing to do. The stupid thing is to announce you are too scared to even meet these people, which is the current state of play. The rumours could well be true. I was wondering if anyone else has picked up any reports on the goings on there regarding political representation.

What power has any MP got to turn around their local area?. They have no power over planning, taxation, regulation or even when the bins get emptied. What exactly do you expect an MP to do?

Up to 2010 a letter to my MP always received some sort of response from them
Now, you're lucky to get an acknowledgement of it having been received, and any such comes from an unpaid intern arse kisser doing their time in hope of a chance to earn a ticket to a six figure salary, amazing pension and freebies in brown envelopes

Pacifico
If I understand the plan of the new Government, it will be to devolve power to elected Mayors, but almost exclusively only to the big urban areas. In other words, just as hiving off Scotland and Wales has consigned them to permanent Left Wing control, then all our Lefty cities will get a far greater degree of autonomy.
The intention of course, being that even if some Tory Government should get elected to Westminster in future, it would only be a few Shires and farming villages that would have to take any notice of them ...... all the big important places would have Left Wing Governance baked in.
But in any case, haven't we already witnessed the last ever Conservative Government ? It most certainly wasn't lost on Starmer what difference the Covid pandemic had on killing off a significant number of the elderly voters ..... and with them out of the way, he sees what the result is .... a huge Labour majority !. Why wouldn't he want more of the same to press home his advantage ? ....... 4 or 5 more years of no Winter Fuel allowance ....and the Tory chances will be dead and buried ...quite literally ...... then to make absolutely certain, give the vote to 16 and 17 year olds who have known nothing but Left Wing indoctrination from Guardian reading Labour/LibDem voting Teachers, from the moment they attend their 8am School breakfast clubs kindly financed by the State, to the time they get home to play computer games in the evening. Oh, and nearly forgot ..... another 4 years to import plenty of new Voters to bolster the Labour cause.
Britain is definitely being transformed, permanently.

I don't exactly know what the problems are so I can't exactly tell you what the solutions are. I'm sure the problems will increase under the present crock we have infesting the HOC BVL.. If Clacton is anything like a typical British town then you will have many councillors and others with state power screwing the system and stuffing their pockets.
Reform do not need statutory powers to fix these problems. They just need information. An example of how information can fix problems is with Coutts. Someone broke the law, and that someone was hoping no one would notice.
