I take it that you are against recruiting NHS staff from third world countries then ? Absolutelly NOT opposed to recruiting skilled medical staff from overseasWithout the recruitment of thousands of doctors and nurses by the Blair government from mostly The Commonwealth and Europe, there would not have been the massive improvements to the NHS which happened under the last Labour government. It takes as much as 9 years to train many hospital consultants The very first Health Minister who recruited doctors from the Indian Sub Continent was Enoch Powell, for the same reasons, the country at the time had a shortage of doctors. BOLLOCKS fiddles.....

Then you are a hypocrite. You claim that NHS pay is peanuts yet you are “ absolutely NOT (sic) opposed “ to recruiting people from third world countries to be paid peanuts .

Two completely different and completely separate issues - the recruitment of skilled medical staff from overseas has had absolutely nothing what so ever to do with lower pay, or with the purpose of paying foreign staff less.
The waves of skilled medical staff who have come here since the 1950s, have done so for one reason, and only one reason, because there were staff shortages, and because not enough British people wanted to train for the roles.
The biggest source of our overseas doctors is the Indian sub continent, where incidentally the standards and qualifications are not only the same as here, but are actually based on the standards of the British Medical Association.
Newly qualified doctors in India can choose to stay in India, many go to Australia, Canada, the United States and New Zealand where they are welcomed. Thankfully a lot came here too, and without them our NHS would probably cease to function.

The rest of your post is pure speculation and supposition, but the last paragraph in particular the highlighted phrase is false.
As Health Minister Powell did not hire anyone from anywhere, least of all the subcontinent. Then, as now, hiring decisions were made by individual NHS regional authorities in compliance with the immigration regulations overseen by the Ministry of Labour, a role performed by the Home Office today.

All of our Doctor and Nurse training courses are oversubscribed. We have a shortage of training places not applicants.

It was always much cheaper to import NHS staff from third world countries than train them here . Its a leftie myth there was not enough British people that wanted to train for the job.

More than 700 NHS nurses are under investigation for providing suspected fraudulent qualifications.
The nurses involved are thought to have used surrogates to take their qualifying test at Yunnik test centre in Nigeria, allowing them to become registered to work in the UK.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) has asked 48 of the nurses already working in the NHS to retake the test, to prove they are qualified to treat patients.
Those nurses will also face individual hearings to clarify how they took, and passed, the test.

Some of these third world shit tips where these so called doctors and nurses come from haven't got a bloody clue on health care. If you can apply a band aid you qualify as a nurse and if you can adminster a vaccine you qailify as a doctor....And also lets not forget the language barrier half the fuckers struggle to speak English....
