No, he knew full well it was wrong to take them, we've had to listen to him and Rayner preaching to us for the past 5 years about Tory cronyism and how it's 'jobs for the boys' in the Tory party.
Why would Starmer think he could do exactly what he's been accusing the Tories of for the past 5 years?
In the space of three months Starmer/Rayner and the rest of the Labour rabble have taken more freebies than the Tories took in the last 5 years, it's the typical double standard lefty hypocrisy, where they think the rules don't apply to them

What I find rather worrying is that Starmer, Raynor, Reeves and Lammy have indicated that it is completely acceptable for them to behave without any integrity or honesty providing they don't break any of the "rules" they have written themselves.
How anyone in their position can find it perfectly conducive to good governance to expose themselves to bribes, gifts and luxury living accommodation from people with their own agendas is beyond belief. Compare this to Rupert Lowe who donates his MP salary to charitable organisations within his constituency. Who would you rather led the Country?
