Ricky Gervais has claimed that the success of his drinks brand, Dutch Barn Vodka, has enabled him to afford a London Underground billboard. However, taking to X, the After Life star said that the advert he opted for was banned by London Mayor Sadiq Khan's TfL. He explained in a post on X to his 15 million followers: Dutch Barn sold so well that we were able to afford a London Underground Billboard. However, it was not accepted for the following reason. Khan's TfL said... ... We think there is a risk that this may be construed as implying that because life is short, one might as well drink, potentially to excess.www.gbnews.com/celebrity/ricky-gervais-sadiq-khan-tfl-banned-advert-dutch-barn-vodkaHonestly, anyone who says the left are not anti democratic authoritarian ideologues does not understand what is going on in this country.

Did Khan actually have any input to the decision to reject the advert?
Having worked with clients who have had ads rejected on London Underground, I can attest that the reasoning of whoever makes the decisions and the modifications they accept can sometimes be very hard to follow…

You do realise Khan doesn't spend his day deciding which adverts are displayed on the underground.

The apparent problem is that Muslims are treated as children from cradle to grave, and are conditioned to control all aspects of everyone elses life. The Left have the same big state totalitarian ideology which makes them compatible with Islam, at least as far as it goes toward destroying the soul of the country.

A TfL spokesperson said: “We did not reject this advert. This creative was declined by our advertising partner based on feedback from the Committees of Advertising Practice.
“The client has resubmitted a new creative, which was approved by our advertising partner and is currently being installed across our network.”
Admired around the world for its creativity, the UK advertising industry sets the standard in successful self-regulation. Our industry is governed by Advertising Codes that are designed to protect consumers and create a level playing field for advertisers.
The Codes are the responsibility of two industry Committees - the Committee of Advertising Practice (CAP) and the Broadcast Committee of Advertising Practice (BCAP) and are independently administered by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).
But all is now OK — a new advert was submitted, which was approved and is currently being installed across our network...

The boss is always responsible for their underlings unless the boss is a leftie . You can only blame the boss for everything when the boss has control over everything. These days if you run a firm, you are not even allowed to express your preferences on who you want to employ, thanks to DEI etc.

You're verging on conspiracy theory there — Global is contracted by TfL to provide and manage a total service, not just sell space. In doing so, Global operates on behalf of TfL and applies guidelines defined by the ASA.

Pat, you can prevaricate all you like, it will not alter the 'fact' that Global Media & Entertainment is employed by TfL who are governed by Khan the incompetent.
