Did they say how many seats would have remained tory if reform didn't get involved? I saw a broadcaster say earlier, it was around 2/3rds of the seats they lost?
I guess Farage did destroy the Tory party, even if he didn't get the seats he wanted.

Well as the saying goes never look a gift horse in the mouth.
Knowing they were in dire straits the Tories should have kissed Farage feet when he said he'd join them.

If I were Starmer I'd be afraid. Very afraid. Because Nigel forced the Tories into a referendum. Which he won. And then the establishment tried to debank him. And he won, with establishment shill "Dame" Alison Rose getting the boot. And then Nigels party declared that they would destroy the Tories. And they did. And now Nigel says he's going after Labour. And he will. This is going to be fun.

The Tories were centre right in their rhetoric but not in deeds. We need a real centre right opposition . Hopefully leading to a centre right government .

Withdraw Reform candidates and get a Tory government that will basically do much the same as Labour. If one is a Turkey then if Christmas is the result of either party then best to try and break that cycle even if it does not work. I suggest you wait and see as so many assumptions from the Right of politics have proven to be wrong. We have to wait and see I agree but no harm in making predictions. The boats will still be going this time in 2 years with at least another 80,000 arriving illegally, net migration will be getting on for half a million annually, amnesty after amnesty for illegals will occur, very few deportations will occur as human rights lawyers have a field day, many communities will have many 'asylum seekers' foisted on them, we will align with the EU in many ways and seek some form of associative membership, wokery (in many of its most idiotic manifestations) will be at work everywhere with DIE ushered in under the guise of equality, pensioners will be worse off, net zero will be doubled down on, the war on the motorist will get ever more stringent (and expensive) and selective power cuts in the winter will be a regular occurrence. Off course I could be wrong but in all honesty with the policies and cabinet I do not see how.

“Vote Reform, get a Labour government”. Whoever said that got it right. Thanks, guys! Interesting to see that Rupert Lowe is going to donate his MP's salaries to charities in Great Yarmouth, so a double win for them.

I think that Cameron did the damage, followed by May, Boris was just more obvious, the whole lot of them wrecked society, and that includes setting us up for a labour majority, I looked at the new cabinet, Raynor, Lammy, Cooper, it will be very very bad, Starmer will put in legislation that will completely wreck us for years to come.

I think it is pretty clear that Farage's next target is a PR referendum.
It is obvious that he chose to burn his bridges with the Tories in exchange for a higher percentage of the "popular vote".
Starmer is fucked from day one because he has boxed himself into so many corners. Farage knows this so he will spend the next 5 years bashing Labour and telling the public they need PR because "nobody listens to the people". Starmer will probably be ok in 2029, but by 2034 Labour (and the Tories) will have to have a PR referendum pledge in their manifesto.

Considering every one of you agreed the Tories had to go, I would say reform did rather well out of it.

Farage will make sure he’s noticed in parliament and hold the government to account . Well I'm sure he will But five against 400+ means just as with the European parliament, he will find his enemies stacked against him As soon as Griffin and Brons entered Brussels a raft of measures were enacted to deny MEP's access to Westminster based facilities and quota requirements were initiated or increased to deny funding. Expect lots of measures currently requiring three or more to suddenly double the quora ....

I didn't catch a number mentioned, but numerous commentators remarked on the fact Farage's party had come in second place, pushing the Tory party well behind them But don't forget, because Labour AND Tory will want to ensure you DO forget, Reform's fifth seat came not from a Tory scalp but a Labour one.

The next 5 years will be very interesting.
