But Labour will probably enjoy a near total dictatorship. There is no end to lunacy that they can enact. And they will.

This is not worrying - this is good

Further and deeper defence co-operation with Europe is good for Britains security, for several reasons.

Not least because we share the same common potential threats, secondly because there is much uncertainty about NATO with Donald Trump potentialy becoming US President.

It is not beyond the bounds of possibility that next year the United Stated may either scale down its European commitments, threaten to pull out of Europe or pull out of NATO, he has made similar remarks in the past, even saying that nations who do not commit to higher defence spending should be bombed by Russia.

WE ARE a European nation whether anyone likes it or not, we allready have very high levels of defence co-operation with Europe, and France is our biggest Defence Industry Partner after the United States.

Most logical thinking people will accept this as the right thing to do, including our top military men and women, only fanatical anti-Europe nutjobs will be opposed to such a common sense move as this.

Step me through how this is good:

How is being in another regulatory stranglehold by the EU good when it comes to the UK's armed forces?

This is the problem with our politicians and the EU. They'll tell you all about the rhetoric of solidarity with our supposed allies, who now refer to the Falklands as La Malvinas, and how it is the right thing to do for the long term security of our nation. But they'll leave out the small print where nothing is reciprocal. The UK will be burdened will bills, obligations, directions and political commitments to join a bureaucratic shit show that just wants to erode national sovereignty and usurp more power from the state.

I remember just before the referendum this was considered as a conspiracy theory - the EU wanting an army. For a supposed trading bloc it certainly seems to demand a lot.

The EU, France in particular have been absolutely desperate to bring the UK into its army orbit via the backdoor. In fact, it was one of Britain's best negotiating leverages during Brexit negotiations. Boris rightly kept it off the table. The EU are cherry picking and are hoping a dozy Labour government will appease their demands. The EU will have finally gotten everything they wanted from Brexit - the UK's armed forces being the icing on the cake. I can imagine Verhofstadt and Elmer Brock toasting a glass of red to this and sniggering again how they've snared the idiots across the Channel. 

Keep out of this. We saw how the EU cannot even manage responses to Covid, nor the war in Ukraine. This is reckless ceding 'ever more' sovereignty of our armed forces to a third nation. 

He's committed to anything that keeps the EU happy ........ you imbecile. 

Like we need to be told 'if you put your hand in that open flame it will burn' ... somethings you instinctively know, you just use commons sense ... but hey-ho what if you don't have common sense ... LOL

The EU would be happy if we joined the single market, Starmer is opposed to that. So not only do you not know cenotaph protocol, you're also wrong about Starmer's attitudes to the EU.
