Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer said Diane Abbott is "free to go forward as a Labour candidate", ending days of speculation about the veteran left-winger's future Sir Keir has now given Ms Abbott his blessing to stand in Hackney North and Stoke Newington - a seat she has represented since 1987. Labour's National Executive Committee has the final say on Ms Abbott's candidacy - but a senior source told the BBC the group will not block her from standing.
Let's hope Labour HQ now gets some capable advisors...

That’s great. Shes always good for a laugh and gives away the real Labour mindset every times she opens up her mouth.

Rayner put pressure on Starmer, we can see who the real leader of Labour is, twohomes Rayner. The intellectual comparison can not really be any greater with those two. Rayner left school with zero qualifications and one pregnancy. To open her legs to school children seems about her IQ limit. Then in the black corner we have someone who graduated from Cambridge with a history degree. It is arguable Cambridge may have relaxed the entry requirements cos she is black, but it is interesting how the one who has a decent qualification is the one who exists far below the one who has none in the Labour hierarchy. Do you suppose Rayner was selected because Starmer needed someone so thick that they would have to consult him on everything they say and do? Or perhaps it is that Labour is showing off its diversity by representing the average IQ of the Labour voter.

I look forward to hearing more of the wit and wisdom ( and her oratory skills) of the Cambridge graduate Ms Diane Abbott if she is re elected. I hope she does her Alma mater proud youtu.be/EOQzexPqErs?si=rqaE8puepkcWgZnP

Sounds to me like you have your wish Pat, you always vote for her, I would because her comedy value is worth every penny. I rather think she must be a misunderstood genius.

Sir Keir readmitted Ms Abbott as one of the party's MPs on Tuesday, after she was suspended last April for saying Jewish, Irish and Traveller people do not face racism "all their lives". 'Labour wants to exclude me from Parliament,' says Diane Abbott www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-69072113

She might well have stood down as campaigning got underway, if Labour Party HQ had got competent staff. Now, she'll probably wait for a more opportune time — provided her health holds out.
Now, if she stands, I'm expecting her to do better than last time when she got 39,972 votes and the six others could only muster 16,892 between them...

I don't think many will notice if another terrorist supporting racist is let back in.
