If I get mugged it has nothing to do with the police but the police get involved to remedy it. I don’t know of any country , no matter how rich, where no one is poor ( maybe some oil rich countries or tax havens ). If you think Labour is going to lead us into sunny uplands ( or whatever ) you are as naive as the ex remainers accused the brexiteers of being . I don't know about sunny uplands but I remember the last Labour government and I remember things being better then than they are now.Was that before or after your lobotomy hh?

The economy isn't too bad? For you perhaps, that's not the experience of people I know. Sunak and his party insisting the economy is turning a corner when most people at the sharp end aren't seeing or feeling any improvement is a huge gift for Labour... Who do you know? My wages are going up and my bills are going down. It's definitely feeling better for me. Lucky for you. My friends, family, colleagues, other parents on the school run all seem to be having a very different experience. I suspect that if the Tories run on a you've never had it so good ticket they'll lose so badly they'll be able to hold their shadow cabinet meetings in a phone box.

Well to be fair he wasn't going to show his hand before an election was called, now we'll see what he and his party are made of. I would say however that as it stands Starmer and labour may or may not be able to fix these issues but the Tories have shown they definitely can't. I'll take a slim hope over no hope every time. So we're back to this:
And nothing else.

I have seen dead herrings with more charisma than starmer.. He's charisma personified compared to Sunak who's like a more sinister version of Mr Bean and lost a popularity contest to Liz Truss. Anyone who's seen the video of him trying and failing to pay for a can of coke in shop knows how cringe he is when he tries to look relateable. You missed the pics of Sir Keir (of the extra special just for him pension scheme) and Doc Martin wearer ginger growler on their knees in Parliament? That pic was so relatable (not) x.com/Keir_Starmer/status/1270374388488167428/photo/1

Why do Labour always stop any effort by government to put a stop to the illegal immigration. It is clear that the vast majority of our citizens want an end to it,but Labour do not, it seems, and the good citizens seem helbent on putting him into the drivers seat. Beats me. if any of the prospective Labour voters have any ideas how to stop it, stop complaining about the tories efforts and come with your own ideas..... Captain U-turn strikes again: Downbeat Keir Starmer complains 'we don't live in an ideal world' as he confirms he WON'T abolish tuition fees, rows back on green pledges, child poverty promises and scrapping Lords - blaming Covid and Liz Truss....... 'Captain U-Turn strikes again', lols superb headline. Bless the Daily Mail. I wonder, are there any Labour policies that Starmer has not U-Turned on? I suppose there might be...

Ah, the makey-up people in your head.
Bills are coming down, for everyone, that's a fact: On April the 1st the Ofgem cap was reduced by 12%. It will be reduced again in July.
And wages have gone up for many.
So your argument is not supported by the facts.

I don't dispute any of that, but surely you accept that it's going to take a while for people to feel it in their wallets? www.ipsos.com/en-uk/majority-of-britons-feel-worse-off-since-last-general-electionyougov.co.uk/topics/overview/survey-results/daily/2024/05/23/81506/3It won't help the hike in mortgages thanks to Truss and co either. And these improvements are starting from a low base, so these improvements mean people are slightly less worse off than before rather than well off.

He has made it quite clear that his initial policy is to strengthen the economy, an obvious necessity given the mess it is in. Then there is the improvements to the NHS, the increase in teacher numbers which will include teacher training which is low at the moment, the introduction of a new publicly owned 'Power Energy Company'. There's a few for you to be going on with. But first he has to find a way to get beyond the more simple minded i.e. very easily led, Tory voters. Yes, but he hasn't told us how he's going to do it? The extra teacher numbers he is magicking (from somewhere) equal less than a third of a teacher per state school and take no account of all the privately educated kids who will be moved to the state sector ,the kids who would have entered the private system (and parents pay twice) but parents who now will not be able to , reduction in bursaries and reduction in state school access to private school facilities when privately educated Sir Kneeler's politics of envy tax is applied to private school fees. State schooling will drop standards even lower than present and class sizes increase even further . The green eyes haven't thought how it will play out

they haven't won an election since 1955 . It between labour and snp in scotland as im sure you are aware , so no one cares how the tories are doing in scotland . the idea people are going to vote labour into power while ignoring gender reform , and Brexit in name only ,Scottish indy and all the other starmer achillies heels is of course laughable. Screaming tory bad to the Scottish and English while the elephants sit quietly in the background isnt going to provide labour with power. I dont see politics going back to what it once was , or labour in any way shape or form dealing with , or attempting to deal with the major problems that is plaguing the entire uk . Labour are a large part of peoples problems rather than the solution. So focusing on culture war issues hasn't enabled the Tories to make any electoral inroads? Is your wife happy to share a ladies clothes changing room / WC or hospital ward with a fella in a frock?

She's got no problem with sharing a bathroom with trans women and has done all her life. She and I are more concerned about the cost of living, our kids education, the NHS.

I can't take your other points seriously, considering Labour plan on robbing the people to fund their insane form of socialism. Maybe more mass-iimigration can fix the NHS, though.
I take it you've never worked in the private sector.

Well we both assume that trans women have been using women's bathrooms her whole life. Do you have evidence to the contrary? I've worked in the private sector my whole career.

Well I assume that female changing rooms like men's have individual booths to change in so she wouldn't be sharing a space with anyone. She doesn't make a habit of checking people's genitals before they enter a changing room either, do you?
