Rumours are swirling about a Nigel Farage comeback today as Reform prepares to launch its election push.
Party leader Richard Tice has called a press conference at 11am after Rishi Sunak fired the starting gun on a July 4 contest.
But uncertainty surround Mr Farage's intentions, with even senior Reform insiders admitting they have no idea whether he will turn up this morning.
In interviews last night, the Brexit champion said the PM had chosen to go for political 'suicide' branding the Tories 'Big State liberals'.
It could get interesting if Nigel throws his hat back in the ring
PS
Just been announced he will not be standing, pity really

Now is probably not the time.
After 5 years of the inevitable Labour disaster however...

Even if he does, what difference would he make considering our voting system?

Farage is more intelligent than our current crop of politicos. He knows it's going to be a shitshow and he wants nothing to do with it.
And he is, as usual, correct.

That's not the point, the point is that the first past the post voting system, is shit.
Look at the results of the 2015 election: Conservatives 11,334,226 votes 331 seats. Labour 9,347,273 votes 232 seats. UKIP 3,881,099 votes 1 seat. Lib Dems 2,415,916 votes 8 seats.
It's not very representative.
This year will be just as unfair. We need PR.

No, he wont. Much to the disappointment of Richard Tice, Farage will not be standing as a Reform UK candidate, or any candidate for that matter.

Obviously no matter which party wins the GE it will not effect me as I no longer living in the UK, however if Labour do win which I think it will by a slim margin my children grandkids and friends will have to endure them, as I did when they were actually in power

Indeed, he will be moving to the US for a short while to help Trump's campaign on the run up to Nov 5th.

Yes, give it a couple of years and Labour reverts to its old self or tax and spend, then he may decide to throw his hat in the ring again and kick Labour and the far left into the tall grass

He shouldn't be getting involved in US politics, least of all the Trump campaign, that man is dirty. The Yanks needed Nikki Haley.
Trump is covered in shit and can't get clean.

I can see him standing as a Tory candidate next time.

Well that maybe so, but the fact is Vin, Trump & Farage seem to have a very good relationship and I don't think that will do Farage any harm among centre right Conservatives on this side of the pond.

Just listened to a commentator who said Farage's decision not to stand for Reform UK will be seen as a blow for Starmer and boost for Sunak because Farage supporters, and there are quite a few of them, are likely to move their support to the Tories.

All The Best What he is quoted as saying in the article is " the GB News presenter said he would "do my bit to help" the party, but now was "not the right time to go any further". I think that is quite clear as he has stated in the past he will not stand for election at this time
