I'm surprised that you fell for Farage's fake patriotism in the first place tbh. This is the man for whom Brexit meant German passports for his family. 🙄 Like his whole man of the people shtick the forgery was screaming out. Imo Farage was( arguably )more influential in the Brexit vote than any other individual . Yet he never was embraced by Tory Brexiter politicians iirc. He was a pundit and commentator much more than a politician . Sour ex remainers trying to put the boot in doesn’t change that.

He was from the right of the Conservative party, a failure there, and who knows where his excessive input into Brexit will lead the country. Only time will tall on that one.

We know it led the country…out of the EU . We know where it will lead the country ..not being in the EU for the foreseeable future .

IIRC under present law all such gifts will have to be made some years (not sure on the number) before the death of the parent, or they will be included in Death Duties. As it is only "a fear" posted in the Torygraph, it might be part of the Tories 'Project Fear'.

"So just to recap: Sunak launches the General Election campaign in the pouring rain to the New Labour soundtrack of Things Can Only Get Better. He then turns up for a question-and-answer session at a factory where two of the questioners were Tory councillors. Next he asks people in Wales whether they were looking forward to the Euros, even though the country hasn’t qualified for the tournament. Not to be deterred, he rocks up in Belfast at the Titanic Quarter and gets asked whether he was captaining a sinking ship. Meanwhile Michael Gove becomes the 77th Tory MP to step down after the election. Shambles doesn’t come close" x.com/MatthewStadlen/status/1794135720434483522?t=NBITkG1TroRpyyJynq07oQ&s=19And now apparently he's having a day off, probably a good thing for him and his party as he's a walking meme factory at the minute. I suppose the one positive for him and his party is that the only way is up from this point.

I suspect it being the fourth of July has a nod to American Independence Day. Not that the UK will ever again be independent rather than dependant.

LOL - even a quarter Labour’s own voters say neither of the two major parties represent change after 14 years of Tory rule.

Why? Is it any more, or indeed less interesting than Starmer refusing to appear on GB News?
