If the polls are correct Reform is destroying the Tories. Reform is getting enough votes to give Labour a winning margin. Remember the Tories did not get all EU laws off the books nor did they stop the boats. Naah. Reform and the Tories combined wont touch Labours lead. Reform is destroying the Tories, but they are not effecting the will of the people. The vast majority don't want the Tories or Reform. Take no notice to polls, they are only a rough indication of outcomes, most people on the street will tell you one thing and then do another. If they are anything like me when I take surveys I put down the total opposite of what is fact, I hate the nosy bastards forever trying to snoop in to your private life.
Nearly every home device/mobile phones has some form of snooping device in it, when the polling stations open I bet half don't vote for who they've been endorsing.

The Tories are running a very subdued campaign makes me wonder what they know.
I think UK interest payments are within 2% of GDP, better since the peak of COV-ID yet still poor Labour cannot make any major policy changes unless they increase taxes.
Yet if another shock comes along..........

Reform UK candidate says she is backing Tories because of Farage's failure to tackle racism in party A Reform UK candidate has defected to the Conservative, hitting out at the “racist, misogynistic and bigoted” views of some of her former colleagues, PA Media reports. Georgie David said in a statement issued by the Tories that, even though she did not think the Reform UK leadership (ie, Nigel Farage and Richard Tice) were racist, they had failed to tackle the problem in the party. She said: I am hereby announcing my decision to leave the Reform Party and stand down as their candidate for West Ham and Beckton, with immediate effect. I am in no doubt that the party and its senior leadership are not racist. However, as the vast majority of candidates are indeed racist, misogynistic, and bigoted, I do not wish to be directly associated with people who hold such views that are so vastly opposing to my own and what I stand for. I also have been significantly frustrated and dismayed by the failure of the Reform party’s leadership to tackle this issue in any meaningful way, and their attempts to instead try to brush it under the carpet or cry foul play. As such, I have now suspended my campaign with Reform, and I an endorsing the Conservative party – I would encourage all of my fellow patriots to do the same. Labour candidate for Clacton, Jovan Owusu-Nepau, said his favourite drink is white mens tears, and that he was standing in Clacton (which is 96% white) for black and brown people. So not only is he openly racist, he's a thick racist who is still a Labour candidate and still has the confidence of Starmer. I wonder what you would be saying about Jovan if he was a Reform candidate, lol. You don't disappoint, you're a typical opportunist lefty. It's what we expect.

There is another possibility that something major is brewing internationally and it will harm the party in power, think interest rate rises above 7%. Indeed. None of us are immune to the world. Perhaps a promises (one kept) to build enough new houses to bring the price down would help with that. In our day a house cost 3 to 4 times your annual income. Now its more like 8 to 10 times. Because of this even small rises in interest rates have a profound effect.

Most people try and deny polls that they disagree with, but I think this horse is over the line.

Agree on house prices, causes I guess are immigration and oldies staying in their homes rather than going into care homes and have carers nearly all with darker skins.

We simply do not have the capacity in the economy to build enough houses to do that given the level if immigration. When 90% of the extra demand for housing is driven by immigration a shortage and high prices are the expected result.

Perhaps a promises (one kept) to build enough new houses to bring the price down would help with that... It won't because demand follows supply. You build more houses, they get cheaper. Then more people want to buy, because it's cheaper. So demand increases and houses get more expensive. And you're back where you began. Houses (well, land really) was cheaper decades ago because our population was smaller. You can't have cheaper housing and an ever growing population no matter how many houses you build.

Housing developers are ready to pop the champagne corks, once Starmer is elected one of the FIRST things that will happen is relaxing of Greenbelt developments, the greedy grubby developers have no interest in Brownfield it doesn't generate the profit they desire.
They can build 300 houses on Brownfield and knock them out for about £200,000, but if it was Greenbelt land at the exact same cost they built the 300 houses on Brownfield they can knock the Greenbelt ones out for £300,000+, the returns are far higher for the same layout.
