IMF demands that Government continues to increase taxes. Suggests Road Pricing, expanding VAT, expanding inheritance tax, higher property tax, increase capital gains tax and start charging for Public Services like NHS. Apparently we are going to be taxed to success...

The last I recall it’s comments on the UK economy, it said it was slightly improving but warned that pre-election tax cuts could damage its fight against bringing inflation down…

So what is the IMF demanding? Isn’t it just pointing out the pitfalls of mismanaging of tax raising and giveaways…?

Well the next Government will have a choice - raise taxes or cut Public Spending. ..and given that the next Government is going to be formed by the Labour Party what do you think that decision will be?

Labour plans ‘relentless' new £36bn tax raid by hiring 5,000 new HMRC snoops....... linkCouldn’t these hires be from the thousands of unemployed the Tories believe are wrongly currently drawing sickness and other benefits? If so, wouldn’t the reduced total cost of benefits help fund the increased number of tax collectors…?

Strange how these Civil Servants HMRC snoops will do as they are told for once, so far everything the Tories are asking them to do they refuse, so the lefties will jump to attention once Starmer is in charge ....says it all really.

Well not quite. You see, politicians are here today, gone tomorrow. But we still have to run the country. And we have to do so according to the rules the politicians have set down.
And politicians are extremely good at blaming us for following their rules.
If they want us to do things differently then they need to change their rules/the law to enable that to happen.
Applying the same rules and expecting a different result is madness.

Some government departments like HMRC the Home Office should be independent of serving governments, being run by the left or right wing governments causes conflict of interest, you will have lefties not wanting to take orders from the right wing governments and vise versa.
Time to cut them lose from political binds, these departments are far too important to be playing politics.
