As I have previously and recently posted whilst waiting at a red traffic signal on a pedestrian crossing a cyclist flew past and unable to see if anyone was using the crossing, this as Tom Jones will verify is not unusual as on Zebra crossings give way and stop signs.
Obviously not all cyclists but there are a large number suffering entitlement and that road traffic laws do not apply to them.

How can a cyclist stick to a speed limit when their bicycles have no speedometers? Plus, most cars can't even give an accurate reading at such low speeds, and bigger cars are actually burning through more fuel in higher gears whilst having to use brakes just to fight the engine. I'm sure we will see 10mph restrictions soon, too. Both my bicycles have speedometers …. They don't come as standard on most models and there's no legal requirement to have them.

Thank you for your usual intellectually heavyweight contribution. Labour only ever gets in because your lot keep proving themselves to be an even bigger bunch of twats, supported by ignorant tabloid reading twats who subcontract their thinking out to media propagandists telling them what to be angry aboutWho needs the media to see what a shit shower we have in westminster regardless of what colour rossetes they wear? And talking of twats does that include the twats who support labour but state they have no political preference? Labour is merely a lesser evil than your lot. I won't be voting for either of the parties. If you will be, which one of us is the bigger twat around here, Jokesy?

Yes, some cyclists are self righteous and at the same time dangerous twats.
But it is easy to make the mistake of assuming they are all the same. The twats just happen to be the ones we are going to keep noticing. Because people behaving properly are easy not to notice but someone being a twat is often hard to miss.
There is one guy near me who insists on cycling home along a busy main road packed with cars at rush hour, all forced down to bicycle speed in a massive slow moving tailback. And he is cycling in the road quite self righteously and deliberately when there is a perfectly good cycle path beside the road constructed at great expense for twats like him so he doesnt have to be a nuisance to traffic.
I almost wish some twat would knock him off his bike sometime. That might not be PC. But I myself am a motorist and fail to see why people like me should have to suffer entitled twats like him. We motorists are paying for the damned road he is on through fuel duty and car tax, whilst he is paying fuck all. We are also probably paying for the expense of the cycle path provided so he doesnt have to get in our way, yet the entitled prick chooses to do so anyway. Just because he thinks he is better than us, as he cycles home to his meal of tofu and salad. I wish I could sentence the twat to 6 months of 60 fags a day with compulsory fry ups every day cooked in lard, banned from the Gym, with his bicycle crushed by a steam roller driven by me, whilst he is force fed 8 cans of lager to go with his fags. LOL

I would say a Blairite gopher is as evil as it gets. It's sad that the most revolting lying sack of shit, who did great evil for money, is looked up to. Blair sucked off Soros, the Bush family, the fundamentalists and just about anyone willing to buy his power, which the idiots of this country gave him. The Tories had to work really hard to alienate their key voters just to give him another go at it.

The Government said it would ensure “justice is done” against dangerous cyclists after MPs backed a change in the law to update an antiquated offence.
Cyclists who cause death by dangerous cycling could face up to 14 years in prison after the House of Commons on Wednesday voted through an amendment to create three new offences.
Pressure for the change has built since the deaths of at least two pedestrians due to collisions with cyclists in London, including one in Regent’s Park in which the man riding the bike escaped prosecution.
Transport Secretary Mark Harper confirmed that the Government would adopt the amendment to the Criminal Justice Bill, which is currently making its way through Parliament.
He said: “Most cyclists, like most drivers, are responsible and considerate. But it’s only right that the tiny minority who recklessly disregard others face the full weight of the law for doing so.
As sensible idea IMHO

But currently there's no way of identifying a cycle, unlike powered vehicles. Coupled with the lack of application of the laws given in the Highway Code, any legislation like this is likely only to prove helpful as a bit of a vote catcher...

All very true. Also, I feel Cyclists - as road users - should have some form "vehicle insurance" in place. We used to have Dog Licenses, maybe we could introduce a Bicycle License, with online registration following a simple Highway Code test, and a nominal fee. All The Best
