Nonsense. You are making an assertion and hiding behind the word ‘ probably ‘.
You know that Hamas would not release the hostages on demand and pretend that is because Hamas has no leverage ( while admitting that the protesters know that Hamas would ignore it ).
And once again you throw in a strawman after that . Are you honestly claiming that Israel would give nothing back to Hamas if Hamas was to promise to release the hostages ( dead and alive ) and kept to that promise ? It's not an assertion. It's just my opinion that the protesters probably see it would be futile to petition Hamas. I'm pretending that Hamas has no leverage? Where did that come from? What I said was that the protesters have no leverage with Hamas. Yes, that is why Hamas would ignore them. Precisely. What, then, would be the point of addressing Hamas? Where did I claim that Israel would give nothing back in exchange for the hostages? Which is no different to saying Israel should surrender to Hamas because you have no intention of changing their mind.

I notice you cherrypick one part of my post and ignore the relevance of the rest so I’ll reply in kind,he wasn’t just going for a walk as you claim was he? This is the point - if he didnt want to walk across the road what do you think he did want to do? He came with a number of associates phones at the ready filming ,he wasn’t simply going for a walk as you claim was he? He was there knowingly after planning to cut straight across the protest march and ignoring police instructions to wait till the march had passed or being escorted to a place wherea safer crossing was possible all whilst being filmed and all stage managed.

So you think protesters ‘ probably’ think it’s futile to demand Hamas release hostages because Hamas will ignore them..which is exactly what I said … If Israel will respond to Hamas releasing hostages then the only reason ‘ protestors ‘ would not press them to do it is because they know that they would ignore them ..or that they would be attacked by the crowd for suggesting it. You seem to be suggesting things then denying that you suggest them . I don't know why you're arguing a point with which you agree. To be clear, I didn't claim that Israel will give nothing back in exchange for the hostages. However, I think that Hamas will not agree to anything less than a total ceasefire, and so far Israel has not been willing to agree to that. The families of the hostages and many other Israelis feel that the policy of prioritising military objectives over hostages is wrong and needlessly prolongs the suffering of the hostages.

I think you might find when the Israelis were destroying everything in sight including murdering as many as possible, the protesters realised the Israeli government didn't give a shit about any hostages that were left alive as they have probably killed more of them than Hamas has.

It is entirely likely, given the scope of the destruction in Gaza, that a good many hostages were killed due to Israeli strikes, which is another reason why many Israelis feel let down by their government. The other reason is that on October 7th, help was very slow to arrive. Did you look at the tape Hamas released of one of the hostages? www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/hamas-releases-distressing-proof-of-life-video-of-american-hostage/ss-AA1nAIAX?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=59f8c865b4e04961b13535e79c091000&ei=11#image=1

Why is that a threat to anyone but them and how would that be a declaration of civil war. Or was this just more bullshit ?

I have been saying as much since Page 29: Hamas likely won't be swayed by protests from the West.I am completely honest. The reason I haven't said what you want to hear is that I don't know, and can't know, what would happen if the protesters demanded that Hamas release the hostages. I just don't see how they could. They are not in any position to offer terms and they know that a total ceasefire is Hamas's asking price, without which the untenable stalemate will continue.T hat's why the protesters are demanding a ceasefire.

All you needed to say is ‘you are correct’. You said anything but. No one in the crowd has asked anything of Hamas and now we know why ..because Hamas would ignore it. No you aren't completely honest . You have avoided the second reason why anyone would demand anything of Hamas in that ‘ peaceful’ protest .
