Think you're missing the point.
If you want to protest against climate change, that's fine, but don't hold motorists up if you're planning to drive to your protest. It's just hypocritical.

Course it is hypocritical. It isn't always shared. They didn't use public transport. They didn't cycle.
They're hypocrites.

They can still exercise their right to " Protest Peacefully " not a problem, but who takes ropes, locks, and a bottle of urine to a Peaceful Protest? a banner yes, one of them was already on bail for not protesting peacefully.

Gareth Johnson Tory MP for Dartford is calling for Just Stop Oil Protesters to be treated as Terrorist Organization, I doubt it will happen, but it is a possibility

Why are they taking ropes and locks to a demonstration? to tie up members of the public? They have to pee somewhere. 😂 Bail for protesting sounds a bit like a third world dictatorship.

They like any other person arrested on suspicion of committing a Criminal Offence can be released on Bail either by the Police, or if charged can be released on Bail by a Court until their trial begins.
I know you may find this difficult to comprehend, but these alleged Protests IMHO were on their way to carry out a protest to stop the traffic, by climbing overhead gantries over the motorway and lash themselves to it to avoid falling.
The Urine which you are trying to extract and failing, would possibly be intended to be thrown over a work of art, which someone in the car may have carried out before and possibly on Bail for, and possibly intent on doing it again.

We are now entering the domain of arrest for possible future crime. I'm not comfortable with that. Where does it end?

No chance of that happening only in Hollywood, what has been on our Legal Books for years is Conspiracy to commit plan and prepare to commit a criminal offence, even though they may not go through with it, or intercepted and arrested on their way to do it. IMHO

They should disrupt traffic flow from home by Zoom.

They should go to London by train, stand across the road from Parliament with big signs as Brian Haw did, or for that matter Steve Bray, and protest. Not hold up law abiding members of the public, some people actually drive members of their family to hospital, the other year I had to drive my father to hospital, he was having a heart attack. If I'd been delayed, he might have died.
It shit me up as it is, it was fucking horrible, but I shudder to think what would happen if I'd been blocked by protesters who had glued themselves to the road.
