It seems only people ( as usual) who find it difficulty to get help are the Brits who have previously worked paid their way, yet cannot often not get help or support they need.
Britain's biggest-EVER benefits fraudsters are busted: Gang of five Bulgarians plundered £54 MILLION off UK taxpayers in fake ID scheme to fund life of luxury, frolicking in banknotes and buying watches, clothes and fast cars... but now face YEARS in jail.....
Two of the criminals - Galina Nikolova, 38, and Stoyan Stoyanov, 27 - pictured together in 2020 while on holiday in Turkey
Their criminal convictions mark what is the largest benefit fraud prosecution and investigation ever brought to the courts in England and Wales.
The businesses the criminals operated claimed to assist people with obtaining a national insurance number and benefits to which they were entitled.

Because we don't have a national id card.

It's because the benefits system doesn't investigate suspected fraud properly. The civil servants who are meant to be doing this do any investigations by phone using a preset list of questions. They need to get off their arses and go out and find the fraudsters, like journalists do. For example you can go to any block of council flats and check on the tenants and you'll find illegal subletting.

Because we don't have a national id card. I would agree . The pros now outweigh the cons and we should have them . The report just confirms the abuse of the benefits system that has been ongoing with freedom of movement from the EU .These people just got greedy and took it to another level .

Initially I think ID cards were dismissed across the board . The left because of Human rights issues and the right due to Libertarian views . I would have concerns and there are lots of issues with them that would need to be addressed . With so many unknowns in the country these days though I can suffer a bit of big brother IF it sorts out the illegals and as you call them the parasites .

I was initially against them when they were mooted, back I think it was in the 90s. My concerns were based on BIG Brother, like yourself. But having worked in benefits and council tax for 25 years, I can see the advantages. Needing to produce them to the police when requested would be really good too.

That would need a change to the law of the land and one of the 'issues' I wouldn't be happy with .

It's absolutely fucking amazing, the likes of us has the tax man breathing down our necks if we owe them a few hundred quid, and here they are dishing out millions of our tax payers money to foreign organised criminals, fingerprint IDs now, that way none of them can claim more than once, and take it from me this is the tip of the iceberg, I can guarantee you there loads more of these foreign criminals at work, but they are too busy to investigate because they are chasing the likes of us.

Why is the system so easy to defraud, that is what I would like to know Because we're bloody mugs, the government have made it far too easy for foreigners to claim benefits which is one of the reasons millions of "refugees" are crossing the channel from war torn France.

This lot will get lighter sentences if they 'cooperate' with the law, in other words tell the thick stupid numbnuts at Universal Credit how they went about fooling and defrauding the system with great ease, so the numbnuts know what to look for.
Wasting their time, they will just up their game, because anything the government and system do they can do better.

You can guarantee these muppets aren't even the ringleaders of this fraud . Probably told to plead guilty by the head honcho . Don't want to get all Brexity but its hardly surprising they were tempted to get involved in taking the piss out of our system .It was a fecking open door to anyone who wanted to take a chance and many of them walked straight through it .

there has been benefit fraud in the UK for decades and decades and decades....the UK taxpayer has lost gobs of money to all sorts of fucking criminals for years. so, is this thread and the fact that benefit fraud exists a revelation to some or just that it's open to anyone that can play the system? Would it be okay if it was committed by some fat gobby northern lass pretending to have hundreds of children from legions of fathers dossing in multiple council estates....?

At that sort of money most of us would be tempted, it's enough to turn honest people dishonest, and they only people to blame is the system, I can't stick Macron but there is one thing he said that is the truth, he said is it any wonder they all want to head to the UK, your benefits system is far too generous.
I bet he's pissing himself laughing reading about this lot, it just shows how much money is being spent on benefits when they've only just noticed £53 million gone astray, like I said this is the tip of the iceberg, and as you correctly state these are just the little pawns, the real head head shabang's are off the radar, probably building property empires in Bulgaria courtesy of the UK tax payers.
