So far, we only have "tasters" or limited knowledge of what will be included in a Labour Party Manifesto But I would suggest that 2 proposals will be particularly popular ... (1) Creating the Great British Energy Company, owned by the people, to compete with the big energy companies who have been making RECORD PROFITS and sharing those profits with shareholders. (2) Bringing the railways back into state ownership will be HIGHLY POPULAR here in the North, where rail privatisation has been a complete and unmitigating disaster, with rail services in the Northeast and Northwest of England the worst in Europe, absolutely appaling. Starmer is saying nothing about Labour policies because publicly he wants to appear moderate, he knows how damaging it would be if he announced his plans before the election. But anyone who's taken in by his apparent lack of lefty policies is in for a post election shock. He will stop dinghies crossing the channel, he will send ferries for them. He will agree to take 'refugees' from war torn EU/France. He will rewrite Brexit, regardless of the referendum. He will, as far as the EU is concerned, be a rule taker not a rule maker. He will enforce very unpopular draconian net zero rules. He will force millions of people into fuel poverty. He will enshrine in law, lunatic hate thought laws. He will make David Lammy Foreign Secretary. God help us. All based upon no evidence - all based upon assumption - clutching at straws - this is crystal ball gazing at its worst. Starmer is of the moderate Left, the Centre Left, in the same mould as Tony Blair, not New Labour, but similar. He will endeavour to repair the Tory damage to the NHS and othe public services, he will try to help ordinary people instead of kicking ordinary people in the teeth as the Tories have done. You better get used to the idea - cos its coming soon

However, I think we may find that within a few months of a Labour election victory, fiction rapidly becomes a reality. Edit: I notice you say 'cos' rather than because. This coupled with the fact that you're a Labour voter suggests you're an inexperienced chav, of course I could be wrong.

About the same amount give or take a few thousand who take the Tories seriously, they are so far removed from actual public opinion with their all for the greater good, which is nothing of the kind, they just as well be from a completely different planet.

It seems that most of the world has signed up to Net Zero by 2035, even the oil rich countries are on board. Immigration seems quite high under 13 years of None Blair like government. If Starmer is successful in his aim of increasing industrial output and of firing up the economy, he will have to import skilled, trained and professional people to keep up with an expanding economy, just as Blair did. Oh for crying out loud, are you serious?... He thinks he's serious, but he's a senile old fool. And before he was senile he was just an old fool.

And when have Labour ever done that? They are the enemy of ordinary people. Labour repaired the 18 years of damage and neglect of a Tory government from 1997, the chronic staff shortages in our NHS, the appaling waiting lists which were growing, the waiting times, the low staff morale. The enemy of ordinary people would not introduce a Minimum Wage ( opposed at the time by the Tories ). The enemy of ordinary people would not create SureStart, or introduce tax incentives making part time work worthwhile in low income jobs, or give every pensioner free bus travel and a Winter Fuel Allowance. The period 1997 - 2007 was the last time things were good in this country, public services improved, we had real sustainable growth, living standards improved, things were so good that the period even got its own label of "Cool Brittania".
