Whether Blair or Starmer Labour has always had the same problem:
A party of left-wing lawyers and lunatics is never going to enjoy the support of anyone with any sense.

Quite, in my experience the younger people are the more likely it is they will be Labour supporters, and Labour are very aware of this. Hence Starmers support for ballot boxes in schools.

Who takes Labour seriously ?
The current answer is ... a lot more people than those who take the Tories seriously, hence the now commanding lead in the polls.
The last time the Tories were ahead of Labour in any national poll was in December 2021, well over two years ago, and an election is now probably six months away.

Yes people will vote Labour, but many of them will be holding their nose. Being the best worst option is hardly a resounding endorsement of approval.

So far, we only have "tasters" or limited knowledge of what will be included in a Labour Party Manifesto
But I would suggest that 2 proposals will be particularly popular ... (1) Creating the Great British Energy Company, owned by the people, to compete with the big energy companies who have been making RECORD PROFITS and sharing those profits with shareholders.
(2) Bringing the railways back into state ownership will be HIGHLY POPULAR here in the North, where rail privatisation has been a complete and unmitigating disaster, with rail services in the Northeast and Northwest of England the worst in Europe, absolutely appaling.

I think transport will be a vague memory as Starmer rolls out 15 minute city imprisonment in tbe name of net zero worship. I will be dead before the stupidity of this is realised. You can also kiss goodbye to whatever remains of the UK as Starmer returns to Blairs policy of flooding the place with any immigrant who wants in

At least you know the sort of crap you'll get rather than the tories telling you one thing and fucking you all over because to do the right thing takes balls and none of them have the balls to stand up and fight...why not vote labour?

The single largest influx of migrants to this country came in the wake of the EU10 who joined the European Union in 2004.
This was as a direct result of the signing of the agreement on Freedom Of Movement, the treaty which holds the signatures of two British Ministers, BOTH CONSERVATIVE under the government of John Major.
We have had this argument on these boards before, I have no issue with Freedom of Movement, I am sad that this freedom no longer exists. But it was a freedom given to both us, and to those that wanted to come here, by a Conservative government.

I asked one of my Lithuanian agency colleagues why he and the others didn’t find work in Germany. He told me that the Germans expect them to speak German . This country was a soft touch to the East Europeans. I’ve heard that more than once from them . The first English words they learned was ‘ Lunch’ and ‘ smoke break’.

Starmer is saying nothing about Labour policies because publicly he wants to appear moderate, he knows how damaging it would be if he announced his plans before the election. But anyone who's taken in by his apparent lack of lefty policies is in for a post election shock. He will stop dinghies crossing the channel, he will send ferries for them. He will agree to take 'refugees' from war torn EU/France. He will rewrite Brexit, regardless of the referendum. He will, as far as the EU is concerned, be a rule taker not a rule maker. He will enforce very unpopular draconian net zero rules. He will force millions of people into fuel poverty. He will enshrine in law, lunatic hate thought laws. He will make David Lammy Foreign Secretary. God help us.
