His recollections are filtered through a prism which assumes everybody thinks and votes for the same reasons he does... The irony. If he thinks the struggling working classes... If you imagine that Labour still serve "The struggling working classes" per your 1930s mindset then it's you that clearly needs to get out more.

Yep, Brexit. And Boris. And sensible, right wing policies.
Sadly, the Tories imploded and took them right back where they started from.
Blimey, I remember people saying "get Brexit done", and saying "Not Corbyn". I don't remember anyone saying run down public services. You have a different recollection to me. Since 2019 money has been showered on the public sector - in 2019 we were spending 40% of GDP, now just 5 years later its 45%...

Left-wing commentator Owen Jones has quit Labour with an attack on Keir Starmer. The journalist and broadcaster, who is a long-term critic of the Labour leader, claimed the public deserves better than a "race to the bottom". Mr Jones, who joined the party at the age of 15, accused the leadership of copying Tory policies, stating: "For me, the party is over."

I watched this earlier, I nearly did meself a mischief I laughed so much. Honestly, Owen 'terminally offended' Jones, flounces because Starmer isn't Marxist enough. I mean he was never relevant, and he's less relevant now. WooHoo, what's not to like.

It would seem Steve is ignoring me, has he in good old lefty tradition 'cancelled' me, lol. Oh dear, most people grow out of it, sadly for some being a lefty is a virtuous banner they drag around with pride and hey that's fine, each to their own. Sadly lefties don't tolerate criticism very well, not to worry. Well I'm not

Most people read this so im putting it here. I wasnt going to vote, but i am now, im voting reform. Lets make it a landslide and get the losers out, red or blue, objectively this is the only choice.. i might as well do the same. In Newport East no one but Labour ever wins but it would be good to see the other party that also believes candidates should benefit from bribery and corruption lose their deposit.

I don't think Labour will serve anyone's interests bar those of the Establishment. A bit like the Tories really. So why do you prefer Labour? I will not be voting Labour. I "prefer" them only in the sense that almost anything is better than what we have now. But if you think I am a Labour supporter you are dead wrong. Because I prefer almost anything to both Labour and the Tories - anything that is except another bunch of even more right wing loons. I'll leave you lot to vote for them. One thing I will say with absolute certainty. In both the coming local elections in May and the eventual general election stupidly held a few months later (instead of on the same day, thus wasting even more taxpayer's money) I will definitely not be voting Labour, Tory, or Reform. Not that it will make any difference. Most people in my part of Plymouth seem able to see nothing beyond the big two. They see no alternative to voting Labour when they don't want the Tories, or Tory when they don't want Labour. So of course nothing ever really changes. In the current mood the Labour councillor candidate will almost certainly win in my ward this time. And Labour will keep winning here until the pendulum of opinion swings decisively against them, at which point Tory candidates start to pick them off again, one by one. The politics of tweedle dum and tweedle dee. Neither of them actually any good.

If you think I support Labour you really haven't been paying attention. They are almost as bad as you lot these days.

My fear is that all that they say is hot air....once the global elite get to them. They wont get elected so its a safe protest vote . They will probably need another one maybe two governments before they are a threat to the main parties . But as we saw with UKIP the threat can be enough to force change so it's not a wasted vote . I will be doing likewise . UKIP told lies and insinuated lies, we really don't need such nonsense again.

I shall be voting Reform. I know they won't get anywhere, but there's absolutely no point voting for either of the Establishment Parties. You are entitled to your opinion but it makes no sense to claim that your biased opinion is the truth.
