The Kharnage coninues...
Ask any Londoner, and they’ll tell you they’ve noticed an increase in crime. And that’s hardly a shock – because under Sadiq Khan’s watch, 36 of our local police stations have shut their doors for good.
For many, this has meant whole areas of our communities feeling abandoned and crime rates skyrocketing. It’s like the heart of our local police has been ripped out, replaced with these faceless "basic command units" that are meant to cover whole swathes of Londonistan.

I think the problem is that there are too many "chiefs". Who's meant to be responsible for the mess that London has become? Is it Sadiq Khan who's the Mayor of London (and therefore London crime commissioner) or is it the head of the Met (Mark Rowley)? Or is it the Home Secretary (Cleverly) or even the PM?
It seems to be Khan who's pulling the strings - and being allowed to do it by the other three, who are afraid to offend the muslims. And Khan is a hard-line muslim who is intent on completely changing the character of London. Khan will be very happy if the remaining few whites and Jews move out of London. He's intent on making it Londonistan - a cesspit just like any other muslim large city. That'll be "job done" for Khan. Lee Anderson was dead right that Khan is is controlled by the "islamists" - he is one.

The problem is that the MET has become a reactionary police force rather than a preventative one . No beat coppers or patrols anywhere , they just sometimes attend if they deem a serious crime has taken place . Have all your tools stolen from your workplace by people you have on security film and can identify and you get a crime number . They are not even trying to catch criminals but more interested in 'hate crimes' and people being offended by Union flags

The amount of serious cases awaiting to be dealt with by the Courts show even with depleted numbers they are still taking criminals off our streets every day, on top of that since Hamas attacked Israel and all the large Protest marches every weekend , that means 2,000 Officers have to be taken off their normal duties week in week out that is why they are unable to do their day to day job.

Well said Handyman ,I know a few coppers and realise they do some sterling work like you describe . For the average Joe though who is affected by low level crime its not a good look when we see the Met turning up mob handed for what could be dealt with by one uniform or as you say thousands overseeing a peace march (cough) Id say take a few off the march and help get my fecking tools back If I knew where he lived I'd go and get them myself ,they haven't even got to leave the yard .

I hope you get your tools back, and I hope the Old Bill get back to you ASAP, sadly the Police NHS cannot keep up with the demand on them like other Public Services money alone will not solve their problems and IMO there is no quick fix
Our local Neighbourhood Police are taken away from our Borough at weekends for the Protest, Paddy's Day, Sporting fixture all the time the Police Overtime bill is very high

Its not lawless, London is the same as any backstreet in the West Indies, Pakistan or Afghanistan. For the population this is normality. Now to impose british law and order, now thats different.

A black male copper, a Muslim Mayor and an overweight female copper. Not a white Englishman in sight. That picture represents everything that is wrong with this country today. It represents minorities woke and diversity which as we all know, but must never say out loud, is a race to the bottom. If I were a religious man I would be praying for the speedy return of common sense. Alas, with a Labour government on the horizon I sense things will become a damned sight worse.

More than one in five police officers are planning to resign in the next two years, research suggests, with plans to fight for greater industrial rights gathering pace.
The Police Federation of England and Wales said around 22% of respondents to its annual pay and morale survey signalled their intention to quit, up from 18% the previous year.
More than 9,000 left the service in the year to March 2023.
A total of 28,070 responses from 29,085 officers were analysed as part of the survey, out of more than 145,000 from the rank of constable to chief inspector who are members of the federation.
Eighty-five percent of those polled said they are not fairly paid given the dangers they face in the job, with 15% saying they had suffered one or more injuries in the past year.
And 18% said they never or almost never have enough money to cover essentials.
This followed a separate poll earlier this month by police finance provider Metfriendly which found that a fifth of officers had skipped meals to save money in the past year.
Federation chairman Steve Hartshorn said: “It is unsurprising thousands of police officers are looking to resign and would not recommend joining the service to others when their pay has been eroded over the years and fails to keep up with other public sector workers.
Mr Hartshorn called for pay levels to reflect the hazards that officers face in the job.

“At a critical time where the police service is looking to rebuild eroded public confidence, a sustained recruitment and retention programme is needed to meet demand and deliver.
“The numbers we currently have are not enough and we are haemorrhaging officers.
“We do not need to scratch our heads wondering why they are quitting, because the evidence is right here, with unfair pay at the centre of it all.
“A fair pay mechanism is urgently needed, namely the ‘P-Factor’ – a payment for remunerating officers for the harm they may encounter while carrying out their duties, among other restrictions.”
The Federation announced in October that officers would be balloted on whether they should seek greater industrial rights.
Currently officers have no right to strike because they are not technically employees; instead, they are Crown servants.
This means that, while they do not have industrial rights, they also cannot be sacked unless there is a conduct issue.
Mr Hartshorn said members will vote on whether to seek the right to collective bargaining, and binding arbitration on pay and conditions, as soon as practicable this year.
Last week, Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley called for a pay rise for officers at or above inflation, with London Weighting increased by at least £2,000.
He also wants the lowest salary levels abolished and chief officers given greater powers to set starting pay.

"Fact check: has Sadiq Khan really overseen a crime surge in London?" "According the Crime Survey for England and Wales, someone is actually less likely to be a victim of crime in London than they are across the country as a whole. In the capital, 14.9% of people experienced a crime either to their person or their household in the year ending September 2023, compared with 15.7% nationally." "When it comes to antisocial behaviour, the crime survey shows London has one of the lowest rates. In the year to September 2023, just 26.4% of people said they’d witnessed or experienced antisocial behaviour, compared with 34.2% across England and Wales" "The murder rate in London has also dropped in recent years. Early figures suggest 110 murders were recorded by the Metropolitan police in 2023 – broadly in line with 2022. That’s down from a peak of 153 in 2019, and is also lower than the 120 recorded in 2015 – Boris Johnson’s last full year as mayor." "Stabbings in London are at a lower rate than before the pandemic, but still higher than the national average" "'Under Sadiq Khan, gun crime has soared by 2,500% in just one year,' claimed Tottenham Conservative Association – several of whose members have stood as Tory candidates in local elections – in a recent post on X. It referred to the scandal as the “Khan crime wave”. The statistic was repeated in a Daily Telegraph article in January. The figure is shocking – and untrue. It originated in a flawed analysis of Home Office data by the Daily Mail, which later retracted the claim and acknowledged its error. The latest statistics, for the year ending March 2023, show there were 12 firearm offences for every 100,000 residents in London. That puts it behind Gloucestershire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Northamptonshire, West Yorkshire, the West Midlands, South Yorkshire and Cleveland (which had the most gun crime for every 100,000 people: 33 offences). In the past couple of decades, gun crime has fallen across England and Wales – and London has done particularly well on this front." www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/feb/26/fact-check-has-sadiq-khan-really-overseen-a-surge-in-london
