You didn't ask that, I didn't answer that. You said they should put country before religion.

"Who makes you feel unwelcome?" Well for starters look at the grief I got on here for daring to say I'm English. This from people who complain bitterly about immigrants and their descendants not integrating. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. Please remember this forum is a trap for the bigoted. They are attracted by the noises they hear from others. It's actually a place where Islamists come here and pretend to be consenting Englishman who want to sell this country out. They generally go around screaming the words bigot and racist in the hope that everyone is silenced.

But you did not say you were English you said you were English with Irish heritage, some people just say they are English. You got upset because you classed yourself as being from immigrant stock and did not like some aspects of the debate. It is an eternal problem as regards ethnicity. You want to be both English with no equivocation but also of Irish heritage which separates yourself out from the other English. I am Scots with mostly English heritage and I am different from Scots with mostly Pakistani heritage and Scots with mostly Irish heritage and those who say they are just Scots. EDIT integration is the process of removing all obstacles to assimilation. If one believes one to be something else as well then that is not integration. I am English. I also happen to have Irish heritage, the two are not mutually exclusive. My father is Irish, he was also a carpet fitter. I'm not Irish or a carpet fitter. You see how that works? I am not disputing you being English it was you that qualified it with Irish Heritage and got quite upset that you could be classed as from immigrant stock. Your National Origins have nothing to do with paternal employment but the race laws make much of National Origins so you have a clear advantage in law you could accuse others of discrimination based on your English identity and your National Origins identity and since it was you that highlighted those National origins they mean something.

I'm not so sure. I would say that claiming you are fully as English as anyone else, but have Irish heritage, is doing exactly what i described. You retain your distinction from them, but allow no way for them to claim (hold) a distinction from you. It's inconsistent. And I would say who gives a shit. But then I guess YOU would. You'll probably find that most people would care about such a thing. Just because you embrace stripping the English of their identity doesn't mean you speak for everyone else. You see, the people have consistently voted against the things you support, even if they were lied to and severely let down by those who occupy the mainstream parties. You are not only supporting a minority, you're supporting a hostile minority.

There wouldn't really be much point since Muslim immigrants usually come from very poor countries in South Asia, the Middle East and North/Central Africa.
The tax yield from such unpromising stock will be very meager and won't even cover the costs in keeping them here.
Did you know that almost half of all ethnic minority children are living in poverty?
I didn't ask you the point. I said what happened. That said there are numerous Pakistani doctors surgeons, accountants solicitors in this country. Of course nothing happened. It was a hypothetical.
But in terms of Pakistanis in Britain, I'd be willing to wager there are many more taxi drivers, kebab wallahs, unemployed deadlegs and drug dealers as there are doctors, surgeons, accountants or solicitors. If you have data which shows otherwise I'd like to see it.

You didn't ask that, I didn't answer that. You said they should put country before religion. In the above mess of attribution - i said "You first asked me why a rational person should defer rather than employing their home culture, beliefs and customs." and you just denied that (in the words you attributed to me above) However, about 13 hours ago, Orac wrote this - "If a Pakistani came to the uk and was completely clear thinking and logical, he would probably desist from voting or involving himself in UK politics, deferring to the attitudes of people already here to avoid nudging the UK closer to Pakistan's culture and problems with his preferences and wishes." Zany replied - "Why?" I am writing short enough messages, but you keep insisting on putting them in a state that makes them impossible to reply to

That claim would apply to the British as well. I think it would apply to pretty much any country in the world.

Only that it doesn't, because other countries wouldn't tolerate half of what we have to put up with. This is why Pakistan kill minorities who have been accused of blasphemy against Islam. You also won't find any organised racially/sectarian motivated child rape English gangs operating in Pakistan.

But we are not exporting them and other counties aren’t finding excuses to import them by the thousands. WE INVITE THEM HERE. I said that without using capitals . Yes ‘we ‘import most of them and adopt them when they enter illegally and all the while they are being cheered by the woke brigade . The same woke brigade that cheer the fact that they still come after Brexit .

Exactly, the British people have consistently voted against it, but are still being bombarded with it despite the empty promises from our corrupt and incompetent politicians. There is no 'we', just a few lying corrupt and immoral arseholes.

No we don’t Zany, the govt and opposition might stand by talking hot air and you are determined to see only racism and bigots. Well Zany there are very many ordinary people across the land who are worried at this turn of events,I know I keep mentioning this but nobody like you seems prepared to answer but here goes again. Why have those liberal states Sweden and Denmark done an about face and now are regretting the path they took, have they all suddenly become like pre war Germany or is it because of the lawlessness and conflict in what were peaceful societies, can you also explain why countries across the eu are closing their borders and hardening their attitudes and this is from peoples once occupied by those we cannot mention. So please explain or are you going to say it’s just a handful of bigots and racists in those countries too?

Yes and as far as my nationality is concerned I am English. I may choose to add other information about another dimension of my identity but that isn't my nationality. Got it? Your Nationality is British, your ethnicity is a matter of accepting and acceptance and subject to much dispute. Most especially since the English, as an ethnic group, are much maligned. I am English and British, proud to be both but consider myself English first, British second. You talk about the English being much maligned yet you appear to be denying the existence of English nationality and identity. Again, imagine if I was to walk into your local and shout out in my English accent that there's no such nationality as Scottish.
