If Rayner was renting the house then she should have had the correct house insurance and informed HMRC . I’m not sure whether a Council house tenant can rent their home to a third party either . They can't. Sub-letting is against the rules.

It will be interesting to see how this all pans out, because from what we know so far she is guilty of either Perjury or Tax Evasion.. Not a good look..

Starmer has “full confidence” in his deputy, Angela Rayner, following questions over an ex-council house sale she made after benefiting from former prime minister Margaret Thatcher’s right-to-buy scheme.
The Labour leader’s spokesman batted away questions about the transaction during a briefing with reporters after Prime Minister’s Questions on Wednesday.
Asked whether Sir Keir had full confidence in Ms Rayner, the spokesman replied: “Correct.
“We have full confidence in all of the answers that she has given on this.”

Apparently Starmer advised the press to direct all enquiries about councilgate to Angela Starmer's office. Angela Starmer's office advised the press to contact the Labour press office. The Labour press office advised the press to contact Angela Starmer's office. Seems no one wants to answer the hard questions. Press ping pong. You couldn't make it up.

Imagine if the Tories tried to pull that stunt, Big Gob Rayner and Starmer would be DEMANDING resignations, police inquiries ... day-by-day Labour are becoming ever more double standard hypocrites.

Rayner on twitter: "I bought my council house back in 2007. I owned my own home, lived there, paid the bills there and was registered to vote there, prior to selling the house in 2015. All before I was an MP… I’ve never been a ‘landlady" So she was married for 5 years and lived separate from her husband??? So why did she re-registered her children at her husband's address??? Neighbours have told reporters that her Brother lived there, and they only ever saw her once lol: www.property118.com/landlady-angela-rayners-former-council-house-mystery-deepens/HRMC confirmed that a couple can only have ONE HOME as their main residence, which is relevent because THEY BOTH sold their COUNCIL HOUSES lol.

It was mentioned the other day 'Can we trust Google'?
I just googled - 'will Raynor be sacked over second home tax avoidance'. The result from google - 'Rishi Sunak faces fresh crisis with two Tories in tax row'.
Makes you wonder...

Angela Rayner accused of 'stunning hypocrisy' over Welsh Labour's deleted Covid texts.....
The Labour Party has been accused of "stunning hypocrisy" this morning after it was revealed key Welsh ministers deleted WhatsApp messages received and sent during the Covid pandemic.
Vaughan Gething, who is currently a hopeful to become the next First Minister of Wales, served as Health Minister until May 2021 and reportedly had the app's 'automatic deleting' setting turned on during the pandemic.

They can't. Sub-letting is against the rules. Subletting is 'supposed' to be against the rules. As I understand it , if you are living in a Council Property, you can rent out a room or rooms but not the whole property, if you buy your Council Property you can rent it out

Exactly, and this is a prime example of why people are completely fed up with Labour and their double standard hypocrisy, they preach others to do one thing, while they do another, the rules don't apply to them, and they have no shame, because each time they get caught red handed being double standard hypocrites like Rayner and her right-to-buy hustle they basically say 'we can do as we please', NO they can't.

They can't. Sub-letting is against the rules. Subletting is 'supposed' to be against the rules. Well yeah, depending on who's doing it obviously.
