This topic is about Rayner... if you say Tories did XYZ that is just whataboutery.
This is news because Rayner likes to (1) point the finger at Tory tax corruption (2) wants to end right to buy, so she looks like a massive hypocrite. Tomorrow at PMQs, Starmer will have to try to deflect and say the accusations are all about a working class woman working hard to buy a council house... and he too will look like a massive hypocrite.
Do you remember Growlergate? Rayner allowed a witch hunt to out two Tory MPs and when the speaker dragged the news editor in to bollock him he was left with egg on his face because Rayner was the source of the story. She also kept quiet about being at Beergate, until the truth was dragged out of her.
This is the trouble with basing your politics on finger waving and shouting "Tory Scum", you better be whiter than white yourself or else serious effort will be put into dragging your skeletons out of the closet!!

She don't want to end the right to.buy dave she wants to reform.it . Like people got to be in the property and paying rent for a long period of time before they sell it . One of the reasons the number of Council property sales fell during Blair Time was he made it harder to sell because he raised the discount they received. And camron lowed it again .I think in the first year or so more Council houses was sold then the whole of the labour yrs.and until lately Housing Associations was bright under the Scheme to right to buy when before it was exempt From the Scheme what puts more pressure On the dwelling socal housing stock . Even at the present time the Tories have built less social housing then labour . They built more Affordable housing whatever that means. Think the rent is 80% lower then the Market value. Also they not done Nothing about the duscusting rents that private landlords charges or the Easy evictions like they said they would..Both drive the ever growing homeless problem. |

I’m not sure whether a Council house tenant can rent their home to a third party either .
