It has just been announced that Raynor says she will "step down" if it transpires that she has committed an offence. It doesn't make clear what she will step down from, being a Deputy Leader or as an MP. What ever the true story behind this the Tories are going for her in a big way, no doubt remembering her boozed up gobbing off about scum. Meanwhile it is quite uplifting to see the dismay within the Labour leadership with Reeves and Starmer refusing to back her and not actually saying they are not backing her, great fun.

The Labour deputy leader is being investigated by Greater Manchester Police in a row over her former living arrangements. But in January 2022 she took to social media platform X to call for Mr Johnson to quit as PM over a Met Police investigation into partygate.

Now there's a formal investigation then I think if she is found guilty she will have no choice but to resign.
Which is a bit of a shame, she is more real Labour than Starmer will ever be.
Of course, admitting the mea culpa and resigning would restore some small measure of integrity.
It would likely lead to her being more quickly rehabilitated back into front line politics.
Where is Johnson's political career right now, spaffed up a wall?

In your opinion that is. But of course if she is innocent she has every right to ignore the political garbage thrown at her, and just get on with her life. Judging by the level of attacks on Rayner there is every reason to believe that CGT people have investigated her position, why wouldn't they? .Do you think I would post your opinion?
