Government amendment on Gaza ceasefire vote puts Labour in a bind.....
The UK Government has put forward an amendment to counter the SNP’s Gaza ceasefire motion in a move that could expose Labour splits over the Middle East conflict.
Labour had looked to avoid another possible rebellion over the Israel-Hamas war by tabling an amendment to the Scottish nationalists’ motion demanding an immediate ceasefire....

Think it will split the tory even more plus lose him.loads of votes The Tories don't kiss ass to get the Muslim votes, unlike Labour who are in the pockets of every minority group in the country, hoping collectively they will get them in to power, as for the white working class voters Labour don't give a fuck about them.

I don't know why Labour are getting themselves so bent out of shape over this - after all nobody in the region is going to take a blind bit of notice of any vote in westminster.

The art politics pacifico. Starmer is all in a bind, because if he agrees , its shows how easily he caves to the slightest bit of pressure , and is he abstains or votes against , it causes ruptures within his party , and among the wider labour luvvies including the muslim vote. loving it.

The flip flopping was all about assessing the situation, where it's likely that there is greater support for Hamas amongst potential Labour voters. Labour have always been the party for Islamists.

looks like the speaker has come to starmers rescue....
BREAKING: The House of Commons is in chaos as Speaker Lindsay Hoyle does things that 'have never been done before' - allowing both Government and Labour Gaza amendments to be voted on.
It means Keir Starmer can avoid the risk of a major rebellion tonight.

lefty own jones....
Owen Jones @owenjones84 · 6m It is an absolute farce that the Speaker has selected the Labour amendment.
Given it blatantly breaks with precedent, many believe that former Labour MP Lindsay Hoyle has buckled to Labour pressure given a Labour government is now inevitable.
