The whole point of Trumps comment was to give those not spending enough on defense a reminder of their obligations under the NATO treaty as well as getting some political points at home . All the countries bordering Russia have achieved the 2% Trump* demands so its a strange comment when he says Putin can do what he wants . Not sure what he thinks he will do that wont include the US in clause 5
*other presidents are available

No sooner had Trump left the Whitehouse, Putin was invading Ukraine. That was after the US' chaotic departure under senile Joe old in Afghanistan.
Biden's presidency has seen much more instability around the world, Middle-East/Israel and Ukraine. Both, all on his watch.
How Trump gets blamed is anyone's guess.

Putin invaded Ukraine in 2014 and Trump did fuck all about the illegal occupation of Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea. Trump also sided with Putin against the CIA in 2018. www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-44852812Trump did nothing to avenge the Russian MPs Putin has murdered. And despite knowing full well that Putin has turned Russia into a dictatorship, he mostly continued pandering to Putin. He's as much to blame as any NATO leader.

But not before Putin's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Trump negotiated the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan, then, as president, he sat on his arse for 9 months and did nothing in terms of what needed to be done on withdrawing troops, leaving very little time for Biden to organise withdrawal troops. Then he had the shitty mindedness to attack Biden's cleaning up of the mess he left. Trump gets away with far too much, lies, deceptions, distortions, extremism, stupidity like injecting Dettol or such like to fight Covid.

Then he had the shitty mindedness to attack Biden's cleaning up of the mess he left. Trump gets away with far too much, lies, deceptions, distortions, extremism, stupidity like injecting Dettol or such like to fight Covid. WELL DONE. Uneducated nonsense like this fits right into Trump's "fake news" narrative. Your attitude to Trump is the reason he still has so much support. If you use nonsense to attack him, instead of why he actually was not a good President, his supporters will point to that nonsense and invalidate your whole argument. Biden IGNORED the advice of his military top brass and pulled air support too early, which caused the chaos and got American's killed. Is it all proven fact, people testified to the official enquiry into what went wrong. Trump wanting to pull out is a separate argument. Trump never said people should inject or drink bleach. He was presented with a scientific study that said sun exposure and cleaning agents like bleach can kill the virus when it lingers on surfaces. To which he responded: "A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. (To Bryan) And I think you said you’re going to test that, too. Sounds interesting, right? And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning, because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that, so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful."
From those comments, Biden said Trump had "told people to drink Bleach", and we wonder why Trump's "fake news" narrative gets so much traction.
