I reckon the Labour party realised about the time of Mrs Thatcher that either way Communism or Capitalism produces a class structure, hence we are all Middle Class now, while the upper echelons of the Labour party made themselves part of the upper classes, after the fall of the Berlin wall everything changed anyway, while there was still a class structure they could climb for gaining more power and wealth for themselves it was under their nose always. Nowadays they are all Lords and Ladies or Sirs, so I guess I am not far wrong. |

I have no time for Corbyn but he did represent the values and principles that the Labour Party have advocated for most of my life - the 'New Labour' era is fairly short. Someone calling himself to the left screaming about commies and far left just about sums you up. Off the top of my head , regarding what pacifico is talking about in terms of labours founding values and socialist principles , I would argue Michaels foots 1983 manifesto was extremely left wing and socialist. Shouldn't you change your forum name - `to the centre`? |
