This is comming in England too. It's only a matter of time. I wouldn't be surprised if within the next few years bin collections were reduced to once a month, on environmental grounds of course...

I don't think bins should be emptied less frequently than fortnightly. Here we have alternate weeks for household waste and recycling. The recycling is mixed and the volume is greater than the general waste.
We are just a couple living here so can easily cope, but next door have 5 in the house and their bins are always the bins of shame by the time collection day comes.
