Imo it’s the Tory’s inability to move further to the right ( apart from rhetoric) that has cost them the election. A more extreme version of the politics that has delivered disastrous local and by-election results and a 20 point poll deficit? Do you think that if the people elect a Labour government at the next GE it will be because they think that Starmer and co are more right wing than the current iteration of the Tory party?

No, ironically, it'll be because the sheeple simply want "change" while voting for more of the same.
The great bulk of the populace are not politically sophisticated.

Are you saying that people don't know what they are voting for?

Are you saying that people don't know what they are voting for? Those who vote for labour don't.. Look at the number on this board alone..

If yesterday's swing were to be replicated at the next general election (it won't be) - Labour still on course to win, probably with a majority of up to 50. A majority still a win I take that.

Are you saying that people don't know what they are voting for? Yes.
And especially with Labour. Given the number of U-Turns that Starmer's made, no Labour voter will have any certainty of what they're actually voting for.

I'm presuming that they'll write a manifesto?

With all due respect that sounds suspiciously like the sort of sneering, elitist dismissal of the electorate that remainers were accused of when a vote didn't go their way.

I'm presuming that they'll write a manifesto? Will it make any difference? I hope they use large letters and crayons so Rayner can understand...

No I think that it will be because the hitherto Tory voters will feel they have been betrayed by the Tories and will stay away or vote reform

I remember being accused of such, TSM's post sounded a lot like what they were accused of wouldn't you agree?
