i wonder why that is? i pointed out the poor quality of opposition and "entrants" into these world cup finals , and buccy buckfast had a heart attack and accused me of being bitter.
Senegal arent a bad side , not brilliant , but are obviously without their star player , but still a good result.
The big question is how many places need to be awarded to European teams before Italy and Scotland qualify? They might squeeze in if it's 32, well Italy might. The faroe islands and andorra , probably san marino , are better than some of they teams you are kidding on you are competing with.

A Celtic goal. Scotland represented after all.

This Japanese defence is looking solid.
Famous last words.

It's good that they let the Croatian Hannibal Lecter out of prison to play.

They better take away Japan's striker's ceremonial swords.

Such a shame! It would have been nice to see Japan through. Croatia is so same old same old.
However, penalties is not a lottery. It is a test of mental strength. It's no coincidence that England has an absolute poor record at it.
The Japanese were seemingly terrified while the Croatian looked very confident.

No wonder you dont produce decent managers in the vein of ferguson or Stein.
As i said up the thread , thats virtually all the non european/south americans knocked out with the exception of morroco. We arent even finished the first knock out stage yet.
Japan in my view were the best of a bad bunch. Good team , but i have to say those japanese penalties were the worst i have seen in years watching professional football.
As for the current brazil southkorea game FFS , game over bar a miracle. Half time four nil , 2 nil down after 15 minutes , and every time the brazilians go forward they look like scoring. Its like watching a pub team versus real madrid.
Embarressing stuff. Now provided there isnt the greatest football capitulation in history by brazil , the next 45 minutes should be exhibition stuff.
As i said earlier up the thread who allows these teams into international footballs so called premier competition?
No wonder england is 2.7 trillion in debt. How much did you bribe FIFA to get the bye to the quarter finals?

The difference between quality and experience from the harder european qualifiers shines through again against a good emerging nation.
They just know how to grind out results.

I'm not giving up on Korea yet. Plenty of time left for them to get 5.

You wait until Brazil start making substitutions to rest players. That's the trap Korea are luring them into. Just you watch. This game isn't over yet. Austria came back from 3-0 down to beat the Swiss 7-5 in the world cup a few years ago. Just fooling them into a false sense of security.

Trouble with this Brazil team is they have no staying power. They were alright for the first 29 minutes but they haven't scored since.

2 mins left for Korea to get 4 goals. I'm starting to think they may have left it a bit late.
