The whole basis of almost every rubber boat paddler story i've seen is that the people coming here WONT apply for asylum in france for a whoe load of reasons including they dont have to if they want to come here. To say many have been rejected (and not repatriated by the french, but allowed to then try their luck here) is a new one on me
