hang on zany , you aren't a mod , and we are all entitled to our opinions including piss taking. Climate change is real , it has happened all throughout the history of our planet , but the argument is it natural , or is mankind causing it with his 3% contribution to the 0.04% co2 in the earths atmosphere. If your answer to dealing with this alleged crises is punitive green taxes , then im out. When people realise the personal cost of this punitive green agenda , then woe betide any politician trying to stand on a green ticket at forthcoming elections. I was just pointing out the thread title. Feel free to trash another one. surely disagreeing , isn't trashing a thread , but merely the bread and butter of a political debating forum? If you can't hold your own argument in support of punitive green policies and taxes , without running to mod for help , then you are on a shaky peg indeed zany.

Disagreeing involves some evidence and content. Memes and name calling require neither. You may enjoy the endless crap and think it fills an afternoon, I don't. I want reasoned debate with someone who puts forward good constructed arguments backed by links and evidence. People who do not feel the need to qualify their points by adding petty insults like "Cultists" to the end of every post. But feel free to debate with like minded souls.

Demanding all out obedience to the climate scam without any critique isn't reasoned debate zany , and if you can't defend your position and stand under your climate flag , why should we take you seriously.?

So how are you going to get China and India to change ?? Been there answered that. I don't suppose you read it last time either. Nor will you look up "what's China doing about climate change" to find out. Just keep repeating the same things . Don't you ever get curious to actually know?

I must say though , if you are going to flounce off the forum in a huff at the merest scrutiny of your political beliefs , its doesn't look good on you as a person , nor does it convince those undecided on the climate debate of the validity of your posts.

First, tropical rainforests have been decimated. The amount of oxygen they put back into the atmosphere by sequestration of CO2 was massive. And it has been shockingly diminished. British Antarctic survey has observed problems from increasing CO2 levels as far back as the 1980's. Ocean acidification and coral bleaching is a massive problem. And with rising temperatures the atmosphere holds more moisture meaning more rain and more flooding risks. Trees take moisture out of the atmosphere as well as CO2. At the very least rainforest countries need to face the most severe sanctions unless they change course. If they change course, the developed world can offer better trading arrangements than they currently enjoy, and subsidy for replanting the rainforests at greater speed than they destroyed the forests. We also need to plant forests here, but high energy crops like sugar beet and sugar cane should also be used to absorb CO2, these can be used to synthesise petrol and diesel putting conventional cars into a closed cycle of emissions. Environmental points worth making: 1) When the World is in conflict and the WEST pushes for eastern expansionism attacking Russia and China over local territorial issues, … creating wars in Ukraine and Gaza,… and over Taiwan … instead of pursuing Peace Talks … these explosions, pollution and destruction create global warming … so if these billionaires are serious about the environment … stop the fighting and pollution … make PEACE and not push to pollute the planet with nuclear fallout. 2) When these same Globalists control elections and put in power corrupt politicians into countries with mineral reserves and logging concerns, and push the wholesale destruction of rainforests all over the World … who are the bad guys in this scenario? .. We see them replacing precious tropical forests with Starbucks/Caffe Nero coffee plantations … owned by the Al Gore Set who love mahogany flooring in their billionaire island mansions and teak linings in their Rolls, Bentleys and personal Leer jets - yet want to tax the working man with ULEZ because he isn’t finding electric cars affordable and practical for most business motoring … just leisure motoring for a rich pretentious elite. 3) The real working classes who love the efficiency fossil fuel energy delivers ~ they recognise hypocrisy in the lives of young activists … a largely idle privileged WOKE JUST STOP OIL yuppy in designer clothes supping their lattes, charging their hundreds of gadgets powered by electricity generated from wood chip burning, swanning all over the World to climate conferences, vandalising property … isn’t being Green. Nor is being an eco-tourist … out in remote fragile environments …. damaging sensitive polar regions alongside thousands of scientists/celebs/tv crews and military with their ice breaking ships and aircraft intrusion … dumping ship’s hot toilet waste into seas now open to warmer currents as every aircraft flight stirs up thin atmosphere layers that best protect ice sheets from solar particles and electrical/microwave radiations. 4) The Internet has brainwashed the young that consuming much more electricity than all the generations that came before them … somehow gives them Green credentials. ~ when the bulk of that energy currently comes from fossil fuel - oil/gas and coal … and requires building yet more Green technology to sustain their increasingly cuckoo tech demands and throwaway Society lifestyles. 6) Surely removing these high consumers from Western environments reduces our Country’s energy demands? … implementing birth control and euthanasia of the young might be a sensible option worth serious consideration? If crunching numbers is what this is about … let’s clamp down and tax and regulate WOKE JSO yuppy wasters, charging iPhones, supping coffee, talking bollocks for hours pretending their electric lives are Green? … they are not … and we are calling them out for being a liability to Planet Earth. For every dead activist and Globalist … I just see less environmental destruction from nickel mining, less trees felled … and less dead child miners forced to work 18hr days to fuel their illusory Green Agendas.🙄👍 …. As for the thousands of poor Antarctic penguin chicks dislodged from their icy nesting sites by intrusive scientists and eco-tourists in their ice-breaking ships … leave the f. buggers in PEACE … and stop destroying their BREEDING habitats with your INTRUSIONS! Not every animal on the planet wants to be z-list celebrities and sexually perform before loads of cameras … Most breeding sites are remote from humans for a reason … privacy. Respect that … scientists … putting your careers/self-interest b4 the wildlife’s interests.

Russia isn't under attack.
It is however a huge oil producer and sponsor of climate change denial propaganda as well as a brutal expansionist dictatorship.
China isn't under attack. It is however a big supplier of personal spyware, a human rights abusing dictatorship and a regional bully.
We humans have decimated forests. Forests sequest CO2.
Rainforests in particular are necessary for climate balance.

Correction: Climate change denial … and the blame for who is really responsible for major human environmental damage to this Planet(Globalists, corrupt Governments, bent scientists) … and poorly executed Green strategies/mal-administration … All this was exposed by apioneering Western Green Activist of the 60’s and 70’s …. American Jeff Gibbs. Watch this documentary … and get educated …. Then we can have a decent discussion with a Western war-monger who thinks the West’s faults are just down to Russian and Chinese interference rather than the CIA. … when are incompetent Left-Wing managers going to take responsibility for their own mal-administrations and environmental damage ??

The key to CO2 sequestration is trees.
Nobody is talking stick / carrot climate sanctions against rainforest destroyers / replanting aid.
I don't care about Al Gore, Great Thunberg etc, what's needed is a different approach.
The current approach taken for the last 35 years has failed.
Plant trees and high energy crops.
And synthesise hydrocarbon fuels as well.
Btw, the only "warmonger" here is you.
I don't want war in Ukraine, you do. If Putin had stayed in his own country and not attacked others, he'd just be some shitty dictator like Hugo Chavez was. Unfortunately he's far worse. Worst threat to world peace this century.
And a threat to the climate too.
Putin thinks climate change will be good for Russia and wants to sell land in Siberia.

Zany is supposedly a wood butcher so even he must know what drives deforestaion in Asia. The price of Teak, Mahogonay, Keroine and the other myriad of hardwoods found in the rainforests have gone through the roof. They are now even using the buckins where a few years ago it would have just been burnt or left to rot.
