It is rumoured that Jeremy Corbyn is either going to launch or contribute to a new left of centre party to rival the more right wing Labour party.
Personally I think this is a good idea and there would be a lot of support for him.
It is though only a rumour.

Is he being paid by the Tories? With abacus running the account.

Is he being paid by the Tories? Lets be honest, Labour under Starmer will be a 'little' better than the Tories and even though I think Starmer is a lying toerag, Tory lite, tosser I will have to vote Labour in the next GE. If Corbyn is associated with any new party he would bring a lot of 'followers' with him and I , for one, would have a serious look. The Tories, by all accounts are being challenged by Reform and as to whether that will make much difference remains to be seen, in fact would the Tories form a coalition with Reform if it was required for a majority. The same would happen with Labour and any new party that managed to win some seats. Even as a minimum it might mean Starmer has to listen to the left a bit more instead of 'purging' them as he is. It could be very interesting but still only a rumour.

I think it would be healthy for politics to have a clearly defined left and right . Corbyn fits the part for the left but who would be the champion of the right ?

It would be much to the benefit of the country if we had a voting system that encouraged parties to be available reflecting all political views from far right to far left (whatever those terms mean) and gave fair representation in parliament to the views of the electorate whatever they are. Would I vote for a Corbynite party or a Farage party or parties even beyond them on the spectrum? No. Do they have a right to representation if they can capture a reasonable proportion (say 5%) of the electorate? Yes.

I agree, we as the voters should really be aware of what our representatives in parliament really think instead of all this flip flopping by both Labour and Tories. You get what you see though with Corbyn, love him or hate him.

Before this descends into the usual tribal slanging match, I'd like to say that we need PR for this to work. That way we would have representation across the spectrum rather than the two main parties targeting the same, small set of voters.
I would like to see smaller parties gain a foothold because at the moment politics is dull, stale and unrepresentative.

The only ones that ring any bells for me is reform at the moment.....I wish our Nige would lay his cards on the table.

The Labour party would have kittens, he revived them had members galore and if it hadn't been for Brexit most likely would have won hands down.

I agree it would appear to be the only sensible way to do it, I don't think we will see it under Starmer though.
