Woke: An umbrella term for self-righteous, left-wing ideologues obsessed by (often artificial) social justice issues relating to race, sexuality or gender.
That looks like a reasonable effort at describing the distorted way that many right-wingers use the meaning of the word. (Urban dictionary?) The problem is that there is a tendency to be too quick and sometimes wrongly accuse people of wokeness, without evidence, as a way of dismissing their points of view. |

I was just having a bit of a laugh. Who cares - it is hardly serious. The conversations in this country are like those of little children. I have to bend down to become attentive to it. I see you slipping into a typical right-wing denigration mode. Using the escape routes of undefined; Lefty, Woke and general denigration is, apart from encouraging dishonest political attitudes, the hiding place of those on the right of politics who do not have the intellect to debate problems. But just wish to impose their own opinions on everyone else. It's quite the contrary with me. I love to have serious and interesting conversations about important things, yet each topic I start I only get replies if it is a thread like this of little intellect. You see for me I tend to jump between conversations I have on here and conversations I have over on Youtube as a member of that platform too. Just to give you a flavour, the last post I left on Youtube was about the subject of telemedicine. |

The woke consider themselves custodians of the moral high ground. Typical woke behaviours include advocating for the special treatment of minorities, denigration of the white working class and the promotion of mental illnesses as the norm. Woke is a politically correct narrative based on Marxist principles and is therefore intolerant to challenge. It often manifests as a pretentious demonstration of care for the supposed victims of social injustice (see also Virtue Signalling) although is often accompanied by an obsessive, blinkered or extreme approach to the same. Examples: White, middle-class people who pretend to hold opinions that they imagine a black working class person might hold. The belief that a man can be a woman. The tendency to see racism in everything in order to cast black people as victims who can then only be saved by the woke (see also Social Justice Warrior).
There, I think that pretty much covers it.  It's also a way for the Marxists to terrorise minorities with wild and ignorant claims that they're in danger if they don't support the looney left in exchange for protection.
