It does look as if it is the Right and the Far-Right who are the ones too ready to overuse the accusation of being woke. That's just a self fulfilling prophesy though isn't it. Someone trots out the woke label, and someone else trots out the right/far right label and applies it to the person who trotted out the woke label. Label wars are one of the most bizzare things that has come out of the march towards individualism. The more societal norms break down and people are challenged to deal with others as individuals, the more people try to apply labels to people in order to generalise about swathes of people. It all seems a bit futile and silly to me. My comment on Right-Wingers comes from the fact that many have and do include the label 'Lefty' in their reference to being woke.

What racism in this country? FFS if you honestly think this country is racist, then it's you who has the problem. Are you suggesting there has not been clear racism from the football terraces ? I would suggest that the booing (which has now died out and is often received by applause), of Taking the Knee by football players, was probably started by racists on the terraces. Life must be a real struggle for someone who is as desperate to be offended as you.

Only a sith deals in absolutes. Just because someone is struggling with individualism to the point they need to generalise about others as 'lefties' doesn't make that valid, and make it valid that they must be a 'rightie' does it.

I think it always was. Now they have turned out a whole generation of them. Yep, we need to return to traditional values, like getting banned from Europe for football hooliganism, gouging swastikas on our foreheads and gobbing at each other. All this caring about each other and the environment is a symptom of a society in terminal decline. We?

I have explained my post if you do not like my explanation then tough. I never claimed anything about anything being "valid". The conclusion that it would be a righty referring to a lefty is fair comment. Of course, you can latch any opinion onto that YOU like. It carries no weight with me.

Life must be a real struggle for someone who is as desperate to be offended as you. I am way past being offended, believe me I need no more than the continued presence of my good wife and the relationships with my children, topped with an occasional glass Brandy to keep me happy and relaxed.

That's the sick tactic of the far right swivel eyed. They'll call you 'Woke' for caring about others and then demonise you by pretending that 'Woke' means jihadist law breakers on the M25. And they'll be offensive when their shit behaviour is pointed out And yet it is ok for you to be offensive and employ 'shit behaviour' like labelling people 'far right', and 'swivel eyed' when they disagree with you? Maybe you should actually read posts instead of making up false accounts of them Go on show us where I have ever referred to an identifiable poster or posters here in such terms. Of course you might be recognising your own behaviours.

I think Whoiney is remembering his sectarian roots. Lefties whine about ethnic stereotyping but a very quick to do it themselves.

I think Whoiney is remembering his sectarian roots. I fully accept that not all of your generation were football hooligans, Squeaky. But not all of the current younger generation are extreme woke, either. It's weird hearing lectures from your generation when they were far worse than the current one, though. Like it or hate, you have to admit a 'woke' generation concerned with equality for all is a moral advancement on the loutish crap your generation is remembered for.

Most generations are the same . I don’t see any real difference between young people , middle aged people and old people from when I was a youth. That’s why older people will always have the advantage over young people . They can speak from experience .
