This is indicative of how there are jobs for the boys (and girls to be politically correct)and as always the little people battle long and are blocked at every turn whilst the rich and famous are never really brought to book. Another petition on the way link

As an aside . This series refutes the claim that the BBC is the home if well made and worthy television programmes . Although I have to admit that it was a Radio 4 series that made me realise the gravity of it .

In other words just another typical modern British politician, ie a self serving bastard. Such types seem to be in charge of all the main parties.

Really? I didn't know that. The employees were dreadfully treated over a computer system that made them out to be thieves and false accounters. This should NEVER have happened and should never ever happen again. The software writers should either be in prison or be bankrupt.

Totally agree.

I've only watched the first episode on ITV but it seems that the fault in the software was very simple - and well understood by anyone who has ever worked in computer communications. It's simply that they were not using end-to-end acknowledgements to ensure messages (that moved money) were safely received (and processed only once). So in the case of messages being lost due to comms errors (which are quite common) money may be handed out to the customer without his account being debited - or alternatively his account debited but no money being handed over - depending on where the failure occurs.
This is such basic stuff that it beggars belief that the PO didn't realise immediately what the problem was and conduct a few simple tests on the system to simulate comms failure. This would have confirmed the problem in minutes. I hope the program covers what the technical problem was - because I guess they must have solved it by now.

They weren’t interested in solving the problem . They wanted to hide it and claim there wasn’t one.

They're probably safely out of reach now in Bangalore or wherever the Indian job-shopper who hired them has its base.

In the biased view of an angry hard lefty who can't have his own political way. Very immature.
