Let's pick up all the homeless round London and drop them off at Lambeth Palace where he can warmly welcome all the homeless and illegal migrants to spend the Christmas period drinking and eating the fat of the land, where they will be waited on hand and foot, and doing very little in return, just like Welby.

Personal services to the crown, sounds like a knocking shop. I wonder if you have to be a choir boy to join?

The only work Welby has ever done is to carry his Jesus on a stick.

I believe that Welby is essentially a good man. I found it quite discomfiting to hear that he has doubts about the existence of God or Eternity. I hope that is not true. He is not wrong to want the best for all of humanity but he has perhaps just got a bit lost. If the King wishes to honour him I guess that's his business after all he has done all the major jobs regarding the late Queen and Prince Philip etc. Since he was due to retire before those events and clung on in the hope of his place in history I guess he has his just desserts. I wonder who will replace him and will this honour create a precedent?

A man of the cloth who doubts 'the existence of God'?
I've heard it all now, living in the lap of luxury, £85,000 a year doing something he doesn't believe in, I'm Gob smacked.

Doing something he doesn't believe in? Sounds like Boris and Brexit.

Yes it was in a discussion I had some years ago where it was divulged that so many clergy have their doubts and Welby was mentioned amongst them. It would explain why so many prayers are offered as instructions to God as if we are in charge and He is simply there to do our bidding. It also explains why God's rules are bent to fit modern man's temporal requirements instead of mankind making the effort to rise above our human frailties. It's not just Welby of course it seems that many Christian religions now bend to suit the crowd as if God can be modernised. I the LORD do not change” (Malachi 3:6)

Doing something he doesn't believe in? Sounds like Boris and Brexit. Boris doesn't live in a Palace, and lives a life of luxury working for a 'Boss' he doesn't believe in, having said that, why am I surprised?
Welby is typical of a lefty, a double standard hypocrite if there ever was one.

Talk about woke honours... ...' Sir' Grayson Perry! Seriously ? Surely Dame would have been more appropriate?
