Doing something he doesn't believe in? Sounds like Boris and Brexit. Boris doesn't live in a Palace, and lives a life of luxury working for a 'Boss' he doesn't believe in, having said that, why am I surprised?
Welby is typical of a lefty, a double standard hypocrite if there ever was one.
I suppose Welby could be called a hypocrite. But doubt is natural. Haven't many leading Christian figures, including Jesus himself, had doubts? Saying he sometimes has doubts makes his faith more admirable. He doesn't believe in God in the way a small child believes in Father Christmas. He wills his belief and works at it. He sounds like a real Christian to me.

Words fail me. With the Monarchy experiencing indifference, ridicule and resentment from large parts of the population, (due to the antics of various Princes and the oddness of the King) one would have thought that they might make some gestures towards those that keep society going and give awards to lollipop ladies, bin men and the very few people in the police service that try to do their jobs, but no, the usual awards to Marxists, lefties, cross dressers, shirt lifters and wokefolk.
Both the Monarchy and the Conservative Party hold the people in high contempt, at least we can vote one lot out but we seem to be stuck with the other lot.

I believe that Welby is essentially a good man. I found it quite discomfiting to hear that he has doubts about the existence of God or Eternity. I hope that is not true. He is not wrong to want the best for all of humanity but he has perhaps just got a bit lost. If the King wishes to honour him I guess that's his business after all he has done all the major jobs regarding the late Queen and Prince Philip etc. Since he was due to retire before those events and clung on in the hope of his place in history I guess he has his just desserts. I wonder who will replace him and will this honour create a precedent? I do too. I also believe that both Jesus and Mohammad were basically good well meaning people. I have no trouble with people who are unable to believe in God or Eternity, I'm probably one of them myself. But I do recognise that probably billions of people do have a need for a belief in God. And I have witnessed the good that takes place for some people during bereavement hymns in Church. I have even felt such relief myself, the words of the hymns being very evocative. I believe that religion brings somethings to those who believe, somethings that are very important to the well being of people, and they are the feelings of belonging and of being accepted.

Ah well, this snap poll in the Express indicates that this hasn't universal support.

Hope he makes the most of it.

The Honours Committee decide who's names go on the list, the Prime Minister rubber stamps the list which is then forwarded to the King.
