I’ll take that as a no then . Which makes you the authoritarian and your position arbitrary. I responded yes. By all means, treat that as a no if you think it helps. It was a no .

That's a very good article, it's a shame so few will read it. It's a real warning that free speech, for the majority, is being quietly eroded in the name of diversity and as we all know, diversity is a race to the bottom. This judge Tanveer Ikram character comes across as a racist. Quote: ...At the 2022 New Year Honours he [Ikram] was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by Boris Johnson for “services to judicial diversity”. And Ikram is among contributors to the Equal Treatment Bench Book, UK judiciary diversity guidance which employs many central tenets of identity politics, like “systemic” or “structural” racism, “unconscious bias,” and “micro-aggressions.” This ideology, which holds that individuals should be favoured or disfavoured according to their immutable characteristics, runs flatly counter to the bedrock legal principle of equal treatment before the law. This man should not be a judge, he is a danger to free speech and common sense. Did you sign the petition to remove Gary Lineker's free speech rights? There was no petition to remove his free speech - he is free to say whatever he likes if he leaves the BBC.

Whilst I accept that people can use highly discriminatory, abusive and offensive language in private aimed at public figures, I cannot accept that there should be police officers who hold such views on black people, Asian people or on other minorities in society.
Any police officer found to espouse such views, either in public, or in private, should be dismissed, without question.
There is also a very relevant argument for making it illegal to make, state, send or communicate such views via a telecommunications device.
As for Gary Lineker, he has not made any political / party political comment in public, on Twitter, or anywhere else .... and that is an indisputable fact.
He signed a letter, which he had every right to do, but was then ridiculed and goaded by several Tory MPs, and because he reacted, some stupid arseholes believe he should be sacked -- And that ladies and gentlemen is the truth of it, in a nutshell.

Feeble minded left wing authoritarians like you are bloody dangerous. Free speech includes not only the inoffensive but the irritating, the contentious the eccentric the heretical the unwelcome and the provocative. Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not a freedom worth having. Appeal court judge, the Rt Hon Sir Stephen Sedley.

Unfortunately, your thread has already been ruined. So, I'll just say thanks for posting that. It's frightening how the law has been interpreted to convict these people. Anyone with a presence on the Internet should be concerned, even though they probably already self-censor.

Actually, only if the grand daughters are over 18. And while you may choose not to believe me, i do actually speak from experience albeit from some decades ago. However i do not think the rules in play in the 90’s, which quite severely restricted the stuff the germans did in the 70’s are much changed from then. You really need to check out the rules for British Naturism events before you gob off. Maybe, you could provide a link. I can provide one for you to go ask them. www.bn.org.uk/Incidentally, my discussion with their spokesman on the legality of their aspirations went something like ‘if the naked rambler wanders down the coast path - which goes past my back door - today, i shall not dive a damn, but he must be prepared to withstand withering mockery of his equipment from my daughters now well in their 30’s. He rather agreed with me. But then i think BN consider that chap a tad too fundamentalist for their liking, a bit like the way the chaps who run our local curry house view ISIS
