Gary Lineker has not made any political comment What he did was to sign a letter, along with other prominent people and celebrities, of which it has been sad that "this is NOT a breech of guidelines". What happened next was that several Tory MPs criticised Lineker for signing the letter, these Tory MPs then goaded Lineker on social media ( Twitter / X ). Gary Linekar has, and did have every right to defend himself against these uncalled for and unwarrented comments. The Tory appointed chairman elect of the BBC has now WRONGLY stated that in his view, Linekar has breeched the guidelines, well of course he would do wouldn't he .... he's a Tory stooge. The bottom line here is that Linekar has not made any political comment, and as before, if the Tories wish to pursue this, they will once again end up with egg on their faces. Tory Dim Wits You got his name right 50% of the time there, fiddler.
Better, but you've still got a way to go.

Yep - another reason to scrap the Licence Tax.. PATHETIC - the only way to describe your post Everyone has views and opinions on many things, and just because one man who works for the BBC has opinions which contradicts your opinions, you feel that the licence fee should be scrapped and the BBC defunded. Utterly pathetic Remember Simone Clark, Prima Ballerina who had the opinion to be a member of a legal political party. The left hated it and spent some time upsetting people's enjoyment of ballet by demonstrating repeatedly. This was an opinion she held in her spare time unrelated to her position but the left would have none of it. So fair dos if a public figure is not expected to have an opinion that should work across all areas, however we know that holding opinion is not what counts it is holding opinion acceptable to the left and therein lies the hypocrisy.

If old jug ears doesn't get the boot from the BBC there will be mass tv licence rebellions, he's taking the piss now, sticking two fingers up to the licence fee payers, and sending us a clear message that jug ears will say anything he likes because he's untouchable.

Neither of my kids watch live TV . Tbh it’s a scam to licence people for watching live tv ( BBC or not ) and giving the money to a broadcaster they do not watch .

That's desperate. Quoting a 6.5 years old out of context reply to a (I think deleted) tweet to attempt to prove a non-existent point!
