What's your first impression on seeing a headline like this one? Someone was mentally ill and it really wasn't his fault, blar blar.

The Irish stabbing incident is presumably quiet because the assailant is in a coma and the police can't talk to him yet. What else do you want the police or the media to say? In the Hackney case, the police are seemingly trying to establish what has happened here for what motive and by who. What more do you expect them to say? Not the "assailant" the SUSPECT. Innocent until proven guilty, even if we know he's the one, as far as the Police are concerned, suspect until convicted. It's common practice to name a suspect if an arrest has been made. Wayne Couzens, the convicted murderer who killed Sarah Everard, loads of details came out about him. Don't you see that it's racist to treat suspects of different ethnicities differently? When there's a criminal on the loose publish a description whether it be a tall black male with a cleft chin and short hair wearing steel framed sunglasses, black jacket and blue jeans, blue Adidas trainers or a tall white male with short brown hair and beard, blue eyes, black jacket, blue jeans, blue Adidas trainers. Treat all suspects the same. Have one process for all. Go back far enough, all our ancestors were black. We bleed the same colour. Suspects are all people. There's nothing racist about describing suspects.

My understanding is that the suspect in Ireland hasn't been formally arrested. I believe (although not an expert on Irish Law) that the person being arrested has to be mentally capable of understanding he has been arrested for the arrest to be valid. I believe this guy isn't in that condition.
You seem to want to imply a racial issue that simply doesn't exist.
If he recovers sufficiently to be arrested charged and convicted, no doubt you will get to know his name. Probably also if he dies. He is in a bit a limbo situation due to the special circumstances of his medical condition. Quite why you need to know his name is known only to you.
