Now reported that the injuries suffered by the assailant in this case are extensive, he is in a coma and it is not clear whether or not he will recover from them. As a result it may be some time before the police can speak to him if at all. It is not clear whether the man has been formally arrested. All of which perhaps explains the delay in charging and release of the man's name.

Thanks for the info Dappy. It shows, not for the first time Wormy instigated a false narrative.

Thanks for the info Dappy. It shows, not for the first time Wormy instigated a false narrative. How do you suppose they know he arrived in Ireland 20 years ago if they don't know his name?

They'd have to revoke his Irish citizenship first.

As Monte pointed out, how could they have deported an Irish citizen? What is your source for this story (other than Twitter)? The Irish authorities are complaining about misinformation on social media platforms. What is there to indicate this is not misinformation? And yes, obviously someone knows. Duh!

My understanding that he was 'saved' from deportation by a campaign by an NGO / 'Charity' and then given Irish citizenship. He was criminal at this point.
